Democratic Senate candidate Kay Hagan skipped tonight's debate in North Carolina

Why is Weekly Standard misleading the public? Shouldn't it read, "Democratic Senator Kay Hagan skipped tonight's debate in North Carolina"?

“Lukewarm” is the perfect term for Tillis (and our fellings for Tillis).

(((Sigh))) this should be a runaway for the (R) candidate, but Tillis doesn’t exactly send a “tingle down my leg”, as Chris Matthews would say - lol!

If I recall correctly, she skipped out on the debate six years ago also. It left a republican and a libertarian debating eachother.

this is good new, I suppose.

I am predicting +8 for the GOP,
+9 if we win NC.

It would be nice to have a candidate that really stands up for NC and votes Conservative.

This race has been rather static at Hagan at about +3. There hasn’t been much momentum either way except that both candidates have terrible favorables thanks to all the mud being thrown at each other.

The Republicans really don’t need NC. It’s probably seat No. 54 right now with NH being 55 and about all the Republicans can get this cycle.

Yes, it would be. But I’m not uber-optomistic if Tillis wins.

Time will tell.

“Yes, it would be. But I’m not uber-optomistic if Tillis wins.”

If Tillis wins he will almost certainly be a loyal member of the GOPe just like our other NC Senator, Richard Burr. The Chamber of Commerce has devoted a significant amount of money to this race. They will expect a return on their investment.

Overrun with Yankees just about sums it up. Progessive Democrat Socialists have infiltrated every state and co-opted the major cities so that the rural area’s conservatism is negated. Damn Yankee = tourist traveling through state acting like they are something special speeding and weaving in and out of traffic. G** Damn Yankee = moves here for 6 months, bitches about how bad everything is and not like home and then leaves for either Florida or a Northeast state for 6 months. G** Damn M&÷#%$ F*&#/!€$ Yankee = moves here, complains about the tax & gang violence cesspool they fled from and votes just like they did while living in the tax and gang violence cesspool AND HAVE NO CLUE THEY WERE THE PROBLEM IN THE TAX AND GANG VIOLENCE CESSPOOL THEY FLED. How stupid do you have to be to be a Yankee? Answer = not very. Don’t bother replying. I’m just a poor, uneducated redneck, set in my ways with my mind made up, clinging to my gun and religion. But I know stupid when I see it.

The debate went on the air and there was only an empty seat where the Dim candidate should have been? That should hurt Hagan under any normal circumstance. Sounds like she feared questions about her personal problems more than she feared the negative impact of being a no show.

Maybe this will put the Republican over the top the last two weeks, uninspiring as he seems to be by most accounts.

She has courted two demographic votes. Single women and Hispanics.

The fact that Hagan even has a chance in this race is a scathing indictment of Republican political incompetence. There is no excuse for Hagan not losing by double digits. Yet the GOP acts as if it doesn't want to lead, but instead complain about Obama's policies (which the GOP House has continued to fund and support for the past four years).

All the GOP seems to want to do is make Mitch McConnell Senate Majority leader. They have set the bar incredibly low. They could have easily taken the Senate two years ago. But they act like collaborators instead.

In an ideal world, we would also win Michigan and lose Kentucky.

The GOPe would rather lose than see a conservative elected-and that’s the truth.

there is a libertarian in the race. it remains to be seen if this libertarian does the only thing libertarians ever do; send a other extremist liberal to congress.

When Hagan took the money for education from the lottery and put it in the general fund...we knew she was dishonest, and her Senate time has proven that.

As for Tillis, I guess time will tell, as I know litte about him although I have tried to figure it out. Right now I just want her gone.
