Things must be going even worse for the Democrats than the polls suggest. The campaign of incumbent Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La., for example, has hit rock bottom.
How else to explain her lame attempt to blame her electoral peril on racism and sexism? Modern illiberals are incapable of thinking their record or their ideas could lead to misfortune.

These are the same people who in 2003 reminded their voters again and again how Republican gubernatorial candidate Bobby Jindal was “dark skinned”.
She’s just saying what everyone else in her current neighborhood thinks about Louisiana!
So when Landrieu was elected the first time there was no racism or sexism in Louisiana. Now that she appears to be losing there is sexism and racism in Louisiana. Just pathetic.
I think Mary is just trying now to avoid a massive embarrassing episode (55-43 win for the Republican). She ought to lose by about five points, which is respectful in my opinion....considering how far she’s fallen since 2008.
The only reason to play the race card is that she’s not polling well with the black vote.
For a weak candidate to say something like that about the very people from whom she is seeking votes, takes a special kind of stupid. Who would, or could, trust her with making laws?
“You’re all a bunch of Racists!!!”
“Now, go out and vote for ME!?”
The stupid is strong with this one.
She knows it’s over. She’s not about to admit that the reason for her upcoming defeat is that she is badly out of step with her constituents.
96% of incumbents are reelected. An inucmbent has to really foul up to be sent home.
“You people are disgusting and evil.”
“Vote for me!”
- Mary Landrieu
That being said, I think she’ll lose now without a runoff.
“Vote for me, you racist Neanderthals”
I am sure that’ll work
Lower than pond scum. I can’t imagine how this woman got elected in the first place, let alone stayed in office this long.
Ger, I will say this about 2012, I was far from enthused about Romney but I was extremely excited because according to the last polls it looked like Obola would lose. Having said that, I am reluctant this time to get excited about our 2014 polls because the Dem fraud is humongo. I will be up late Tuesday waiting for numbers.
