Yes, force the democrats as well as the republican senators to record votes and let them stand on their records for the next election cycle. Its going to be interesting to see how many of both parties are willing to stand with Obama and take one for him.

I’m betting there are enough votes to override Obama’s veto. It will only take one instance, then Obama can take his veto and stick it. I’m waiting to see if the republicans still remember the game of politics. I know Cruz does and he knows which buttons to push within both parties. The GOPe are going to have a dilemma deciding whether to attack the new policies put forth by Cruz and other conservatives or repeal the old ones of Obama.

It’s a whole new poker game. I’m looking forward to watching how both parties play their hands. So many opportunities, so much to do...

The money is on the dirt!
I believe whole heartedly that the machine has the dirt on everyone. If they don’t, which I doubt, they will. Even with the latest crop of elected officials.
Notice how as soon as they show up in DC, it’s under the radar for them. I’m speaking largely about the newly elected. There are some outliers and thank god for them.
The ones that speak out are the ones to watch. Then shortly thereafter, they seem to get told to shut up or they find a horse head lying next to them in the morning.

The economy is going nowhere if “Obamacare” remains in place. Those two issues are married.

McConnell and Boehner are both controlled by the same puppet masters.

My tagline is the only way to beat K Street.

Well said! Ya know, what does it take to blackmail someone? As simple as saying, ‘Hey we know you went to a porn site last December. This can be made public.’ When libs control the NSA, there are no secrets and no dirt shall go to waste.

Agreed.

My wife works for a medical device company. I’d bet 90% of the workers there know nothing about the medical device tax.

I even had one EE tell me that the tax was so small as to be meaningless.

In reality, EACH employee has to generate $50 per hour of additional profit for that plant in order to pay the tax.

$50 per hour! For the medical device tax alone.

——Would it be possible for Cruz to stop McConnell from becoming majority leader?-—

I don’t think so.

The two will reach various accommodations as events progress. In my mind, it depends entirely on how many others Cruz can line up with his thinking.

You are right on. The truth is that Obamacare is on the books but doesn’t exist in all it’s gory worst. The most people are still exempt. I think it mostly kicks in this month for employers ..... there will be hell to pay as businesses decrease coverage and the prices for the decreased coverage soars.

What our existing healthcare system needed was some fine tuning and adjustments here and there, along with a dialog between healthcare professionals and law givers.

Seriously? The Republicans Have No Health Plan?

[... snip ...]

Comprehensive Republican health reform plans introduced in Congress

Let’s start with 5 comprehensive health reform proposals that have actually been introduced in Congress—some well before President Obama even was nominated for president, and all months before the House (11/7/09) or Senate (12/24/09) voted on what eventually became Obamacare.

[... snip ...]

Comprehensive conservative Obamacare replacement plans

[... snip ...]

There's much more at the link.

They’d be fools not to go after Obamacare.
In polling 60% of the public absolutely hates it.

No they won’t. They might pass another couple dozen repeal attempts, but they don’t have veto override numbers.

They’re probably not up to anything, but if enough encouragement is given to them, they might rise to the challenge. Everybody - even a Senator or Rep - wants to feel, when they are dying, that they have made a positive difference in this world.

But we can’t do this simply by attacking. There definitely has to be the stick (which many people, such as Cruz, can administer), but there’s also got to be a carrot. Most of these people, unfortunately, are immune to the re-election carrot, because many of them are older and are not going to run again. (Can we say TERM LIMITS, children?)

But for whatever time they have left, we need them, and this means we’ve got to appeal to their better natures and call them or send them letters (by regular mail, since their websites will not accept anybody who is not in their state or district) and praise them for good decisions or tell them what the country wants.

In other words, it’s Americans who have got to set the agenda - but in a positive way, with our unique vision as Americans.

Right. And we need to do more at the local level to replace the RINOs with people with conservative values.... I will be happy to support those in DC, if they do the correct stuff.
