NYT: GOP ESTABLISHMENT GEARS UP FOR CIVIL WAR AGAINST TEA PARTY

WASHINGTON — As most Republicans were taking a victory lap the morning after the elections, a group of conservatives huddled anxiously in a conference room not far from Capitol Hill and agreed that now is the time for confrontation, not compromise and conciliation.

Despite Republicans’ ascension to Senate control and an expanded House majority, many conservatives from the party’s activist wing fear that congressional leaders are already being too timid with President Obama.

They do not want to hear that government shutdowns are off the table or that repealing the Affordable Care Act is impossible — two things Republican leaders have said in recent days.

“If the new Republican leadership in the Senate is only talking about what they can’t do, that’s going to be very demoralizing,” said Thomas J. Fitton, president of Judicial Watch, a conservative advocacy group that convenes a regular gathering called Groundswell. Any sense of triumph at its meeting last week was fleeting.

“I think the members of the leadership need to decide what they’re willing to shut down the government over,” Mr. Fitton said.

Establishment Republicans, who had vowed to thwart the Tea Party, succeeded in electing new lawmakers who are, for the most part, less rebellious. And when the new Congress convenes in January, the Republican leaders who will take the reins will be mainly in the mold of conservatives who have tried to keep the Tea Party in check.

But they have not crushed the movement’s spirit.

So I was trolling the corporate media after the “wave” to see how they were going to spin it and came across a C-SPAN panel of RINOs from the past and present (Senators and Reps) with a few lib DEMs tossed in for good measure.

These career politicians where Monday morning QBing how McConnell was going to isolate and remove Cruz and Tea Party guys like the cancer they were. They were personal buds with McConnell and were all admiring what a masterful politician he was and giddy with how he would remove the limits on the debt ceiling and actually have some fun in the Senate now that Harry wasn’t there to sit on the legislation.

McConnell is going to back stab conservatives, he is going to team up with the usual suspects. He is the ultimate insider and it will be business as usual.

Agreed. GOPe is playing defense. This is exactly the time to keep pressing them. The Tea Party worldview is framing the debate.

It is simply dumb to take any cards off the table, even if you do not plan to play them.

I, too read that a Republican leader told Obama the Republicans would no shut down the government nor remove Obamacare. That same day Boehner told the media removing Obamacare was high on the list. I think the media is playing us.

The ‘normal’ people of the world have noticed the Marxist’s plans and deceits and are responding all over.

TEA used to be a problem for George 235 years ago, too.

Slavery across the West ended within ~20 yrs in the mid 1800s.

It’s happening again!

I agree with you. I am pleased with the election results and see a new day ahead as these Republicans, conservative and eGop, get together to save this nation of ours from becoming a third world country. And if they don’t work together as a team, shame on us if we don’t put all their feet to the fire. It is certain the Dems and media will work overtime trying to divide us into as many splinter groups as they can. We on FR should not fall into their trap. We need to get our act together and pursue the goal.

Just what I was thinking.

McConnell is smart.....scary smart.

One problem with scary smart people is that they don’t think they are ever wrong. He may feel insecure and threatened when a group like the Tea Party challenges his judgement. His natural reaction is to dismiss them.

Last week Rush talked about how powerful the GOP would be if they would just embrace the Tea Party instead of courting constituencies that will never buy in.

We must keep the pressure on Boehner and McConnell. We can’t afford their errors in judgement.

I am a little more optimistic. Not because I think the two sides (GOP-e and Tea Party) are going to put aside their differences, but because for the next two years they in fact aren’t going to be able to enact any positive measures. Why fight when there really isn’t yet much to fight about?

The entire right needs to realize that it’s now all about the 2016 Presidential election. If a Rino wins, then the GOP-e is going to be in command. But if a Tea Party-ite, like Cruz or Walker, wins, then the Tea Party will reign supreme. Until then, they both have a common interest in positioning Obama to look bad.

Rush knows, and Conservatives need to know, this will ever happen. GOPe is liberal trailer-park trash, they eat out of Dumbocrat dumpsters.

Just see my tag line!

The Uni-Party has been on the same team for 100+ years. How long until Americans figure out they’ve been scammed for the whole time?

GOP ESTABLISHMENT GEARS UP FOR CIVIL WAR AGAINST TEA PARTY

That's a garden party compared to the war going on now between radical feminists and transgenders.

Hiss.

The idea that there has to be any more kabuki theater between the GOP leadership and Obama over Obamacare is pure malarkey. All they have to do is quit funding it, and there isn’t a thing Obama can do about it. Congress holds the purse strings, not the president.

I’m as likely to believe anything in the NYT as I am the Moscow News. Half the truth is a lie.

New Yorker ran this in August. It is incredible how insane these people are. The trannies (who are still physically male) want to be let in on ALL the feminist activitites, and the radical feminists want to keep them out, and it is unbelievable how they're fighting each other.

What Is a Woman? The dispute between radical feminism and transgenderism.

Just like Constitution “expert” Obama probably learned a few things about the federal government’s constitutionally limited powers in the Oval Office, I don’t see why TP patriots can’t teach RINO McConnell a few things about those limited powers if he becomes Senate Majority Leader.
