'All options are on the table': Boehner refuses to rule out shutdown to block Obama from amnesty

* Obama is reportedly looking to expand his deferred action program to include any one who came to the U.S. as a child
* The sweeping order would also allow parents of both citizen children and illegal immigrant children to remain in the U.S.
* As many as 4.5 million illegal immigrants with U.S. born children could be protected
* A growing number of conservatives are pledging to stop Obama by restricting immigration funding in an upcoming spending bill
* Senate GOP leader Mitch McConnell has explicitly said there won't be another government shutdown - period

House Speaker John Boehner refused on Thursday to rule out a government shutdown as a means to block President Barack Obama from halting deportations for millions of illegal immigrants.

'All options are on the table,' Boehner said during a press conference this afternoon, noting that Republicans in the House are still discussing their next move and have not made any definite decisions yet.

'Our goal here is to stop the president from violating his own oath of office and violating the Constitution. It's not to shut down the government,' he said when a reporter asked him to clarify the GOP's intentions.

As Boehner walked away another reporter tried to get him to state on the record that he would not allow a government shut down, but the GOP leader did not respond.

Today Fox News reported that Obama would implement a 10-point plan to change the immigration system as early as next Friday, leading to a renewed effort among House Republicans to use an upcoming spending debate to force Obama's hand....

IT'S UNCONSTITUTIONAL

Draw up articles of impeachment and dare Obama to try it.

No other response is conscionable.

He can’t win the Speaker vote in January unless he fights this (we don’t know what ‘this’ is yet BTW) tooth and nail.
Besides congressional actions, Governors can apply directly to the Supreme Court for an emergency injunction to block ‘this’.

As I understand it, one doesn’t technically have to be a House member to be Speaker. Anyone know?

That is my understanding also. Guess anyone could be elected speaker.

He won’t even try to shut the gov down. He might as well not even imply that he would. Jeez!

Either impeach or completely defund or nothing!

Rand Paul On Shutdown: "Even Though It Appeared I Was Participating In It, It Was A Dumb Idea"
I said throughout the whole battle that shutting down the government was a dumb idea. Even though it did appear as if I was participating in it, I said it was a dumb idea. And the reason I voted for it, though, is that it's a conundrum. Here's the conundrum. We have a $17 trillion debt and people at home tell me you can't give the president a blank check. We just can't keep raising the debt ceiling without conditions. So unconditionally raising the debt ceiling, nobody at home wants me to vote for that and I can't vote for that. But the conundrum is if I don't we do approach these deadlines. So there is an impasse. In 2011, though, we had this impasse and the president did negotiate. We got the sequester. If we were to extend the sequester from discretionary spending to all the entitlements we would actually fix our problem within a few years.

Obama has committed impeachable offences, of that there is no doubt. I believe that he wants the House to file articles of impeachment, knowing that it would not get out of the House and if it somehow did get to the Senate, it would die there. He knows there are not enough republicans with cajones to get the job done and a failure to convict would gain sympathy (votes) for democrats in 2016.

Plus, he could add martyr to his "many" accomplishments.

If only this bawl-baby would grow a pair but he is just parsing words. His track record to date sucks odds are not good they will allow a shutdown. One of the “options” is the surrender monkey position and roll over for Obola to pat his tummy.

Keep the pressure on, people.

It’s not a time for conservatives to let up.

In fact, we must redouble our rate of fire.

Guys it would be impossible for Boehner to ignore this and win the January vote for Speaker. The votes just would not be there.
He has to do everything he can until then.

If Obama did it after Boehner won the Speaker vote, well...

we either have a Constitution and rule of law or we don’t
why should us citizens obey laws when the elite and illegal don’t?

GOP needs to tell everyone that every dollar that goes to illegals is a dollar that doesn’t go to citizens, and start taking them away with an explanation of why EBT Food
Stamps Obama phones etc are being cut.

That’s what I’d most like to see... some red-state GOP governors coming out and announcing that their states refuse to recognize Obama’s lawless actions, and that any so-called “work permits” to illegals would be null and void.
