American Conundrums

Every day CHQ readers email us all manner of material – comments, news tips, rumors, conspiracy theories, jokes you cannot tell your Sunday school teacher – it all arrives and gets reviewed even though a lot of it doesn’t really fit our “news and commentary from the Tea Party or limited government constitutional conservative perspective” USP.

But every so often something comes in over the transom that’s so incisive (and in this case funny in a sad sort of way) that we just have to share it, and such was the case with “American Conundrums” an email forwarded to us by our old friend “Jim,” a decorated Vietnam vet, patriot and valiant cancer survivor still fighting the 30-front war down in Florida.

American Conundrums

A conundrum may be puzzling or confusing --but-- these make REAL sense; here are six conundrums in the United States of America today:

1.America is supposedly capitalist and greedy - yet half of the population is subsidized.

2.Half of the population is subsidized - yet they think they are victims.

3.They think they are victims - yet their representatives run the government.

4.Their representatives run the government - yet the poor keep getting poorer.

5.The poor keep getting poorer - yet they have things that people in other countries only dream about.

6.They have things that people in other countries only dream about - yet they want America to be more like those other countries.

Think about it! And that, my friends, pretty much sums up the USA in the 21st Century.

“Jim” added “Makes you wonder who is doing the math.”

He then added these three, short sentences that tell you a lot about the direction of our current government and cultural environment:

We are advised to NOT judge ALL Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, but we are encouraged to judge ALL gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics.

Funny how that works. And here's another one worth considering...

Seems we constantly hear about how Social Security is going to run out of money.

But we never hear about welfare or food stamps running out of money? What's interesting is the first group "worked for" their money, but the second didn't.

Think about it.....and Last but not least,

Why are we cutting benefits for our veterans, no pay raises for our military and cutting our army to a level lower than before WWII, but we are not stopping the payments or benefits to illegal aliens.

Am I the only one missing something asked “Jim?”

No Jim, you aren’t.

Why are politicians limited in the amount of money they can take from an individual, but an individual can pay them a million bucks for a 20 minute speech?

Money taken is a “campaign contribution” the $1 million is a speaking fee (read personal income)

However you make a good point.

We are advised to NOT judge ALL Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, but we are encouraged to judge ALL gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics.

Great post and so true. And the victims have the full advantage of a health care system that only is bettered if their reps share the health care plans they (reps) have.

Why can Obama make speech after speech going after the evil rich, and then have dinner every night with people who spend $36,000 apiece just to eat with him?

I can not argue with a single point!

Jesus Christ: You can’t impeach Him and He ain’t gonna resign.

5.The poor keep getting poorer - yet they have things that people in other countries only dream about.

Maybe true in Sierra Leone but in many other places the poor have every Leading-edge electronic gadget and THEY paid for it. My "poor" relatives in India had a smartphone at least three years before I did. And they are moving up in socioeconomic class.

Here, where everything is a "gift" from the taxpayer, the poor do stay poor (and dependent).

Well, it definitely is the elites vs. everyone else. This is not healthy.
