If Mary Landrieu’s threats are such a good idea for attracting government-dependent Democratic voters to the polls, why didn’t she use them during the general election?
Probably because she was too embarrassed to employ such desperate tactics, as, apparently, were her fellow Democratic losers.
Mary will still be the Senator from Louisiana until the end of this year no matter what happens today. But will she be shameless enough to show her face in Washington again before her term ends, after trying to frighten her most vulnerable, ignorant constituents into believing the world will come to an end if they don’t vote for her?

So if Landrieu really wants her voters to have such federal government benefits, here is what she needs to do. She needs to rally Congress to propose an entitlement amendment to the Constitution to the states. And if the states choose to ratify her amendment then Congress will have the specific powers that it needs to regulate, tax and spend for the items on her list and Sen. Landrieu will be a hero.
