State Rep. Scott Fitzpatrick filed legislation this week that would prevent anyone without legal status from getting state aid for higher education. His goal is to block a proposed rule by the state Department of Higher Education that would allow some immigrant students to qualify for the state's A+ scholarship program, which covers two years of studies at a community college. At issue are students who qualify for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, created by Obama in 2012 to stop the deportation of children who have lived in the U.S. for years but whose parents brought them to the country illegally.
...policies restricting financial aid to immigrants living illegally in Missouri could make all immigrants, not just students who qualify under the deferred action program, feel unwelcome, said Vanessa Crawford Aragon, who heads Missouri Immigrant & Refugee Advocates. She said students who qualify for those scholarships pay state taxes and meet other requirements for financial aid, just like other students, and singling them out based on the country they were born in "runs counter to our sense of fairness in Missouri."

I’m still trying to figure out how people who are here illegally get “in-state” tuition in California.
Some judge will throw this out.
The rules only protect those who break them.
Even if we stop college aid to illegals, what does it matter if the border remains wide open? We win a battle and lose the war.
That may be, but it’s a nice “litmus test” for your state legislators.
ALL the states had better wise up to the fact that pushing back against this dictatorial government may be their last chance for survival. Certainly the congress is useless.

They AREN’T “immigrants” if they came to this country illegally back when America was a nation of laws.
Texas should secede.

If Texas secedes, we then throw California out of the Union, to keep the Senate balance.
Heh, that’ll leave a mark on the liberals around the country inciting riots — the black rioters will either support this, because they don’t want illegals taking the low-end jobs currently filled by low-skilled locals; or they’ll express solidarity with the illegals; and that will split the “movement”. Meanwhile, the non-black libs will support the legislation, as will the illegals.
