Everest College probably had better statistics, but it was privately-owned, the bane of the Obama Administration’s approach to The True Education Experience.
It was an urban college on the edge of Philly, with marginal instructors...marginal students....and a degree that was worthless even if you spent four years there and graduated. You could have predicted this ten years ago.
I thought the bottom of the barrel of college going African Americans went to Columbia... and then Harvard...

And? What are we supposed to do about it? No government money should be used to bail them out. But I’m sure that’s what will happen. Maybe the NAACP should give them money since they only care about advancing colored people.

I think some - like Howard - get a fair amount of decent (maybe not excellent) students who want to avoid debt. Sure, Harvard, et al will give a poor kid a full ride, but the child of a still married cop and nurse is too rich for meaningful financial aid at even the most generous of the financial aid granting institutions. And if the parents are smart, they'll make sure their bright kid chases merit money so as to keep the loans to a minimum.

The way the black colleges could survive is to create their own “feeder schools”, that is, all black primary and secondary charter schools. And a big part of this would be to teach and show students how the big, liberal institutions do not want to educate them; but just to use them to pretend their admissions are diverse.
Admitting huge numbers of black students, then attriting 75% of them their freshman year, and almost all the rest their sophomore year, leaving them with debt and no degree. And then funneling the survivors into worthless degrees.
And a bad degree, from a “name” school, is still worthless. What they need is a good degree from an all-black school, that will ready them for a successful career.
So the elementary and secondary schools train them to do very well at the black college, with minimal extraneous stuff, so they are primed and ready when they graduate high school.
It doesn’t help that administrators periodically raid the funds to line their pockets.

Its four-year graduation rate is 9% (from the article). But it’s a black college. I wonder how it would fare in Obama’s new rating scheme?
I’m sure Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson will each make a sizable from their personal bank account to help them out.
Nothing to worry about. 0 and his buddies will make sure they get a bundle of taxpayer money.
