Officer Liu , just married was also an only child. Neither loss is easier than the other, but my heart breaks knowing there are no children or grandchildren to hold his parents close.

OT: listening to de Blasio’s presser, I had 2 puke moments. The first when he said he prayed “over” the 2 officers at the hospital. Maybe a non-issue for most, but in my mind, if someone prays Over me that someone is God, Jesus or a Man of the Cloth. Everyone else can pray for me. Silly, but we all have our quirks.
Puke moment 2: he mentioned telling Jaden his own father died when he was 18. A devastating loss. Well, if that is so what a great way to honor your father by changing your name.......Wait! Did he not say he changed his name to honor his mother because his father was rarely around & not a part of his life? Me thinks Kaiser Warren Wilhem is a lyin' hypocrite.
The other family is waiting for relatives to come in from China, but the red tape needs to be taken care of. It will be a while.

A group of retired police (so the active duty police won’t face retribution) have offered to make sure the Mayor’s motorcade never makes it to either funeral. We’ll see what happens. If the family agrees for him to attend, that’s one thing, but if de Blasio insists on going against the family’s wishes, he is an absolute scumbag (above & beyond what he already is) and should be KEPT out ... retired, active duty, family, whatever it takes.
Damned if DeBoobio attends or not. Can’t say I feel sorry for him cuz he did it to himself. Nothing but a public apology would do at this point. As for Sharlpatan he better not show up, period.
He doesn’t deserve to attend.
