She was probably tired of it all, especially being attacked, her and her husband (the faggots really went after her husband).
She always underperformed in her seat (the most GOP in MN). She ran behind the top of the GOP ticket (Governor in 06/10, POTUS in 08/12) in all of her elections, nearly losing in 2012 even as Romney easily took the district with 56.5% of the vote.

Including Michelle Bachmann, how many "pointer outers" do we have?
They ALL claim he has NO LEGAL RIGHT to do the things he's doing... but NO ONE STEPS UP to LEAD against him.
Plenty of "pontification" but no "action heroes" to be found.
No one challenges Obozo. They just continue to spew words.

But it always takes courage to represent constitutional conservatism in the vast ideological wasteland that is now Washington, DC. Unless there are compelling personal reasons for Bachmann to step down, consider her departure a disappointing loss for the cause.

It's not the first time Bachmann has made controversial comments about Islam. In 2012, she said that Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin had ties to the extremist Muslim Brotherhood. That fact might be controversial, but Bachmann's comment about it is not.

Yes, certainly, in part. But I can't absolve any underperforming member of their part of it. While a nationally prominent conservative she must have at least somewhat neglected to endear herself to her district.
