The Lord liveth;
and blessed be my Rock;
and let the God of my salvation
be exalted.
Psalm 18:46

Lord God,

Before the tree is taken down, before the decorations are returned to the boxes, before the New Year is brought in, help us to pause. Help us to think upon the Gift of Jesus and all that He means to us, pondering the Greatest Life Changer of all the earth. Lord, before we return to the business of our lives, help us to remember that this Precious Child is no longer a Child, but the One Who is seated at the Right Hand of the Throne of God, Who ever lives to make intercession for us. Blessed is our Rock. May the God our Salvation be exalted both now and evermore.

Father, we ask that our military men and women trust in You with all their hearts, leaning not to their own understanding. In all their ways may they acknowledge You, for You will direct their paths. Even in dark times of loneliness and depression, Father, we pray that You would reveal Yourself to them in powerful ways. You are the faithful God of all creation. Blessed is Your Holy and Awesome Name.

May Your people Israel be blessed and shielded from the plots and schemes of their enemies. Father, gather them into Your arms and hide them in the shadow of Your wings.

As we approach the ending of 2014, we ask You to help us make 2015 a year of growing closer to You. Place Your desires in our hearts, Lord, and help us to put no other gods before You. We give You all the praise and glory, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

2 Timothy 2:8 Meditate on Jesus Christ, who was raised from the dead and is a descendant of David. This is the Good News I tell others. . . I will meditate also on all Your work and ponder on Your mighty deeds. Psalm 77:12 Praying your beautiful prayer over our beloved heroes, over our nation, over Israel. Amen.

PRAYERS ASCENDING ON HIGH FOR OUR AMERICAN HEROES AND FOR OUR BELOVED NATION!

Gen. George Washington and his Troops Marching To Valley Forge
December 1775

IN THE COLDEST and darkest days of the American Revolution, General George Washington raised his prayers for the survival of his beleaguered Army and of the new Nation. The Lord answered his prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting Glory, and bestowed His Manifold Blessings upon the new Nation.

FROM THE BRAVE, albeit weary, ill-equipped, and untrained volunteers who marched into Valley Forge on 19 December 1777 arose, with the help of some gallant friends from across the waves, the cohesive fighting force that became the United States Army, global defender of Freedom and scourge of Tyrants.

AS GENERAL WASHINGTON lifted his prayers on high in that bleak Winter, let our prayers now rise like a fountain for our Heroes in the American Armed Forces who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and gather them in the shelter of Your Healing Wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission. Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, with the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever, Amen.

HEAVENLY FATHER, Lord of the Nations, unto Your Divine Mercy we commend the souls of these valiant men and women who have fallen in the service of our Beloved Nation and in defense of the Freedoms we hold dear. We pray that You gather them in Your Loving Embrace, that You cause Your Countenance to shine upon them, and that You vouchsafe their souls to dwell eternally in Your Divine Presence. Through Jesus Christ Your Son, with the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever, Amen.
