This is hilarious. de Blasio is a bully, who thinks he can insult and sneer at 35,000 cops while embracing criminals, and yet the cops must mindlessly obey him, because they are “mere hirelings”.
His attitude about the police is just like those liberals who said that the only reason people join the military is that they are too dumb to hold minimum wage jobs.
The trouble is that they believe this so much that they think they can take any ignorant gang-banger and make them a soldier just by issuing them a pistol. And de Blasio probably thinks the same thing about the police.
So at some point, I suspect de Blasio is going to try mass firings of police, while trying to hire thousands of replacements. Which should be the heights of hilarity.

No the Houston Police union has a long history of bad blood with the Democratic party. Houston used to have an admittedly deserved reputation for police brutality, and for years the Democrats used that as a campaign theme. The Houston police have long since cleaned up their act, but they have never forgiven the Democrats.
