Rupert Murdoch says he's a huge fan of American Sniper, and anyone who thinks otherwise -- "Hollywood leftists" in particular -- are completely out of touch with America.
Murdoch just weighed in on the left vs. right controversy surrounding the film, after Seth Rogen and Michael Moore both initially appeared to criticize American Sniper on Twitter, sparking a national debate in the process.
The mogul, who owns 20th Century Fox movie studios and routinely takes to Twitter to praise Fox films, offered his support for the Clint Eastwood film, which was released by rival Warner Bros.
Murdoch wrote on Twitter, "Hollywood leftists trash American Hero, show how completely out of touch they are with America. Bravo Clint Eastwood!" He added, clarifying, "Yes, American Sniper!"
On Monday, Rogen tweeted that American Sniper "kind of reminds" him of the Nazi propaganda film about a sniper showing near the end of Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds. He later clarified that tweet, writing that he liked American Sniper and that he wasn't comparing the two, just saying one reminded him of the other. . .

Our guys sniped a lot of Nazis during WWII.
Isn’t surgical killing what the Marxists always wants? Fact is, they were rooting for the Butcher and his barbarians since they have a common enemy, America.
Pray America is waking
And a lot of snipers operated during the Civil War too, though they called "sharp shooters" back then.
The left’s reaction to the movie is an eloquent explanation of their inability to understand what the public wants and what the public will pay to see.
If you’re a salesman like me you may have said a silent prayer that you never become that arrogant.
I think you may have missed my point, which is that his uncle fought as a Nazi.
That would help explain much of what Michael Moore is and does.
I love criticism of the movie from people who have not seen it.
Chris Kyle’s sniping is a small part of the movie. See it before you comment.
I saw it tonight. It was a packed house in Davenport and it took forever to get out of the parking lot. The movie draws ordinary Americans who don’t consider themselves political.
I read a story of a US sniper who, armed with an M-1C or D, took on and shot over 40 North Koreans or Chinese in ONE engagement.
During the REVOLUTIONARY WAR, one British officer wrote home and told his fellow officers, who might be sent to the American Colonies, to get their affairs in order as the AMERICAN RIFLEMEN targeted OFFICERS, and not Enlisted men!
HORRORS OF HORRORS!
His uncle that you are calling a Nazi, was an American paratrooper killed by a Japanese sniper, and Moore’s father “”was in the First Marine Division in the South Pacific in World War II. His brother, my uncle, Lawrence Moore, was an Army paratrooper and was killed by a Japanese sniper 70 years ago next month.””
Whoa!
I have more than egg on my face.
I apologize profusely.
How the hell did Michael turn out to be so anti-American?
Who knows, even his physical genes seem different than what you would expect from a family producing paratroopers and Marines.
...the same Hollywood that celebrated “The Friends We Keep” has a problem with “American Sniper”?
“Rogen tweeted that American Sniper “kind of reminds” him of the Nazi propaganda film about a sniper...”
Rogen reminds ME of Nazi propaganda. He and all of his little wicky ticky leftist cohorts can just take their political correctness control overtures and run them as far up their nether regions as they can possible reach without the aid of a Komatsu excavator.
Wait, Michael Moore should use a Komatsu excavator.
Both of them need a close encounter with White Feather.
