Past Bush immigration remarks shock conservatives
CNN ^ | February 4, 2015 | By Alexandra Jaffe, CNN

Washington (CNN)During a "Family Reunion" conference hosted by the Hispanic Leadership Network in April 2013, Jeb Bush spoke freely on the promise immigrants hold for America and his views on reform.

He said, during a discussion with Univision, that it was "ridiculous" to think that DREAMers, children brought to the U.S. by their parents illegally, shouldn't have an "accelerated path" to citizenship.

Then, the former Florida governor was speaking to a friendly audience of establishment Republicans, after re-inserting himself in the immigration reform with the release of a controversial book on the issue a month prior.

But as he moves towards a probable presidential run, and the far less friendly terrain of the GOP primary fight, the comments, which were shared with CNN by Democratic tracking firm American Bridge, are certain to deepen already developing headaches for him — on both the left and especially the right, as conservatives react in a mixture of bewilderment and eye-rolling when confronted with some of Bush's resurfaced lines on immigration.

"I've never felt like the sins of the parents should be ascribed to the children, you know," Bush said in 2013. "If your children always have to pay the price for adults decisions they make — how fair is that? For people who have no country to go back to — which are many of the DREAMers — it's ridiculous to think that there shouldn't be some accelerated path to citizenship."

At least CNN is being honest now that it gets most of its news from Democratic affiliated firms and is simply a tool to advance the Dem agenda. Having said that, Bush is a tool too. He blathers on about respecting differences of opinion, yet its "ridiculous" to not want to make illegal alien children (I refuse to use the BS term "Dreamers") citizens. Its a huge welfare liability for productive American taxpayers. Why is it "ridiculous" to be worried about that? I guess if you are a spoiled rich boy like Jeb, its hard to fathom why people who actually have to earn money may want to keep it.

And yet, “conservative” Bush
willingly let Terry Schiavo DIE BY THIRST
as people PLEADED WITH HIS MAJESTY,
DIE BY THIRST just like any other concentration camp.

I swear that Jeb and “Dubya”’s first time was with the mexican maid. That is the only explanation for what these two believe.

The Bush children were reared by Mexican maids, so this open borders attitude is predictable.

I had read speculation that Bush took the stand he did on immigration because with our population shifting to a much older average age, we could not remain a superpower unless we brought in younger people. What we get for having just 2 kids or less I guess. I agree with this to a point, but blindly importing low skilled folks will not help. We need higher skills as well.

Me too, doesn't shock me at all. It's something I would completely expect from a far leftist like Jeb. What does the Repunklican party think they are pulling anyway by pushing a leftist like this guy? It's amazing how infested this party has become by the left, this is beyond RINO now, this is just blatant far leftist crap they are pushing. This is a guy who honored Hitlery Clinton on the one year anniversary of Benghazi by giving her the Liberty medal. This is something Pelosi would do, or maybe not because it is such an affront to the victims families, but not Jeb Bush. Oh no problem for him. That's how far left radical this punk is. And they have the GALL to push him as a Republican? LOL!

"I can't tell you how awesome Hitlery is to me!"

"Everyone applaud for me! Aren't I so awesome?"

Bush’e comments on amnesty should shock anyone.

Illegal immigration is a difficult and complex subject which requires resolution as the current status quo is will destroy the nation if it continues.

Bush's perspective outlook on the issue is irresponsible, counter productive and emotionally driven. He seems to have a fundamental conflict of interest on the subject due to the influence of his foreign national, non American wife's personal feelings on the issue.

We need a leader who can broker a solution to the illegal alien problem that is solely driven by what is in the best interests of the country and the American people, not the interests of any particular special interest group including the illegals themselves.

Bush is simply not that guy.

We were a superpower because of the kind of people Americans are/were, what we believed. Simply being human is not enough.

Sadly, such considerations do not factor into our immigration policy anymore.

I find it ridiculous that a clueless ignorant "white" Obama fails to see the absurdity of aspiring to leadership of the Constitutional nation of laws that was created 225 years ago, and most of us hope, will last at least 225 more years.

I hope to participate in the next civil war, to erase all graduates of the Chamberlain University of International Diplomacy..."

Some things are worth dying for.

What we get for having just 2 kids or less I guess

Uh, no. That's what happens when you murder 57 million of your own children since 1973.

We never "brought in" other people to become a superpower unless there was a deficit of people...like the 700,000 men killed in the un-Civil War who also had no children.

Americans USED to be able to afford 10 to 15 kids per family and that's why the nation grew so fast, not because of immigration.

But add in all the taxes of Progressivism, outright discrimination against the original Americans in favor of foreigners (why DO the descendants of the Spanish Conquistadors get Affirmative Action?), and offshoring of American industry and jobs to "favored nations", and you rapidly see why there are fewer kids around.

We could add to that list but that's just a few of the highlights.

End abortion, limit immigration to pre-1965 levels, cut taxes and inflation and...voila: you'll have a self sustaining, even growing, Nation.

Like we used to have.

What exactly is keeping the DREAMers from applying for citizenship themselves through our current process? If they want to be citizens so badly, why not go through the procedure?

Choosing Bush, the elder, for his VP was Reagan's worst mistake.

Now we're stuck with them, election after election.

Does this mean our children and grandchildren won’t need to pay off the debts created by adults in control now?
