Very little we can do?
Buy a clue!
Jordan just tried a device like this to give them corrective release therapy and it has been 100% effective:

We could simply execute them while we have the opportunity. That’s something we can do to protect ourselves and innocent other people. Just sayin-—

Gee, I dunno Barry, maybe you should ask the King of Jordan or the Prime Minester of Israel, or Vladimir Putin what an effective strategy might be?
Effin moron. What's even worse is our press who asks no questions over the stupidist comments from Obama.

They couldn't have chipped them before they released them?
If they lived life peacefully, no problem - but return to terrorism - Oopsie!
And if you conveniently take them out when they are in a meeting with a bunch of terrorist cohorts....well, sorry guys, should have chosen your friends more carefully.

They are not just soldiers returning to the battlefield. They are seen as heroes who resisted, prevailed, and succeeded in getting released from their imprisonment. As a result, they’ve become elevated to superstar status in the terrorism world and are now leaders who inspire their fellow fighters. Letting them go was a huge failure, like so many others from this administration.

Why aren’t these prisoners classified as “Prisoners of War??”
As such they don’t need to be charged and can be detained indefinitely and they only need to be fed and housed plus given short period of time for exercise.
