She has dominated the airwaves during 30 years as a chart-topper, but now Radio 1 has decided that Madonna is an immaterial girl and just too old for its teenage listeners.
Despite her determined efforts to look and sound youthful, the 56-year-old has been dropped from the stations playlist that determines which songs are played by DJs during the day.
Madonnas latest song is Living For Love and has been available for airplay since December 20 last year.

Did they actually pay someone to come to the realization that she is irrelevant as well as "old"(56). Heck there's probably a lot of us here that could have told you she was irrelevant 20 years ago. Not aging well either.
I’m no McDonna fan, but what’s more irrelevant than “teenage listeners” or Radio 1, for that matter?
A bitter and nasty 56 year old.
There are many 50+ celebrities that seem to stay relevant and cool. Madonna Louise Ciccone is not one of them.
She could always get a gig with a pharmaceutical company providing bacterial specimens.
Wasn't there some strange dystopian sci-fi movie from the seventies, where eating was viewed as disgusting and to be done in private, and they called "gooving?"
LOL! Now I’m laughing again. Don’t you remember how smart and relevant we were as teenagers? :>}
Government decides who is relevant, who may enter the market etc...
I don’t see what the problem is with Madonna and radio, her current crap sounds just like everyone else’s.
Video is another story. Perhaps there are some 56 year old bodies I’d want to see in that skimpy outfit Madonna wore at the Grammies, but hers sure as hell isn’t one of them!
Now she’ll be on Radio 2 only for older demographics.......that’s how the BBC works....
She was never worth it.
I think you may have just added a word to the Freeper Lexicon.
She was always banned from my playlists, so what’s the problem? I didn’t ban her due to age or irrelevancy, but lack of talent.
So, who’s ON my playlist? Jesse Norman, Renee Fleming, Elisabeth Schwartzkopf, Dieter Fischer-Dieskau....major talents, all, and NOT an irrelevant one in the bunch!!!!!!!
About 30 years too late, imho.
I like her gap teeth and she does have an occasional good song:

She’s been entertaining us for thirty years. I give her grudging respect.
She’s an embarassment to herself. She should have stopped trying to be a “sex symbol” about 15-20 years ago, and developed a more adult style if she wanted to keep being an entertainer. Same goes for Cher, but make that 30 years ago.
