Administration memo tells border agents they can release drunk drivers (Calling MADD)

The Obama administration is telling Customs and Border Protection agents in a busy stretch of the U.S.-Mexico crossing that they don’t have to arrest intoxicated drivers, sparking backlash from advocacy groups and others.

The Department of Homeland Security issued the advisory, which informs agents in the Tucson, Ariz., sector that they have three options if they encounter suspected drunk drivers -- detain them at the request of local law enforcement, detain them without the involvement of another agency or let them go.

In stark terms, the bulletin explains which options put the officers at greatest risk of being sued. The bulletin warns the first option poses the “greatest threat” to an agent of a lawsuit.

Instead, the advisory, obtained by conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch, highlights the third option – letting them “go on their way.” The advisory makes clear agents have no legal obligation to intervene in state crimes and that with the third option, “there is generally no liability that will attach to the agent or agency for failing to act in this situation.”

The Muslim administration and rabid liberal Democrats want illegals to be legalized to vote so, so badly, they are willing to allow drunk illegals to murder, maim, assault and infect your children and loved ones. There is no decency in them. Not one scintilla.

So there’s a alcohol and drug problem streaming in from the south. Instead of trying to do anything about it, let’s ignore it.

So we Americans are subjects to traffic stops and DUI checkpoints while Mexicans and Arabs are permitted into the country regardless of sobriety or malicious intent.

Good Lord what has happened to our country in these 6 years gone?

The US feral government is the self-declared enemy of its legal citizens.

This isn’t satire? Everything/anything coming out of DC these days is a joke. They don’t care that people laugh at their stupidity?

It’s not the Border Patrol’s responsibility to arrest drunk drivers. That’s a local law enforcement job so just call them in to make the arrests. If they’re illegals, take them back to the border and point the way to Mexico - they could be given a “running start.”

These “memos” don’t carry the force of law. In fact it was one issue pointed out by the judge who slapped down Obama’s amnesty “executive action”.

Better then to release them in D.C. so they have some high level targets such as politicians? Wait till that happens and see how fast odumbo screams.

DUI stops are about revenue tickets. The CDC is doing the paperwork to push the BAC standard down to 0.05. It is 0.01 in Sweden.

Any official, no matter whom or what there appointed/elected office is, that gave this order, should be charged, as an accessory before the fact to the commission of the crime.

If a drunk driver is released and he is involved in a fatal accident, who is responsible?

The drunk, the individual who ordered the drunk released.
