Gee, I guess failing two French classes in college would qualify me for an Obama administration position. Never take a French class from a Frenchwoman who taught at the Sorbonne or was educated there (I had both and they was POSs).
My other French teacher was a real gentlemen, understood how American students learn foreign languages, and configured his class to help them success. I passed, and to this day, greatly admire this gentle.

This always cracks me up. A gorgeous boy in my freshman French class (for people who had already taken some french in high school) was asked to read something in class, but he declined, saying “Je suis un petit cheval.”
