OTAY MESA — An FBI agent's handgun discharged into his leg Thursday morning during training at a firearms training center in Otay Mesa, a federal official said.
The shooting happened at the San Diego Regional Firearms Training Center on Alta Road about 10 a.m., FBI Special Agent Darrell Foxworth said. Investigators are trying to determine if the agent accidentally shot himself or if the gun malfunctioned.

My instructor told me to launch from 300’ and turn right over his VW microbus.
When I landed by a small tree I was greeted by a Mexican family and their guide.
The daughter held a handfull of lillacs and the guide took our picture under the Wills Wing Raven 229.
Flew for the next 10 years as a mountain pilot. Stored my glider at Torrey Pines, lived in Del Mar.
When guns are outlawed, only doofus’s will have guns.

I sorta want a gun...with the training and permits and everything... but, honestly, I’m afraid that this would be me...afraid of guns...no confidence there.

I love my Glock, but I never, ever mishandle it. When you’re careless with another gun, the instructor reprimands you. When you’re careless with a Glock, the instructor calls an ambulance.
Don’t get a Glock if you’re not highly proficient and good at attention to detail. If you’re ever ready to start shooting, any decent 1911 design is extremely safe and hard to fire by accident.
I just do not feel comfortable with a loaded auto pistol on my person.
A revolver with the hammer set in the position where it is off the firing pin is fine, but just knowing that firing pin is set to go in an auto pistol makes me nervous.
I have never had one misfire on me, and I always handle it with my finger outside of the guard until ready to fire, but I just rather not have a round chambered, which I know can be a big damn mistake if you need that gun ready on the fly.
My auto pistol is a Springfield 40 cal SD with two different pressure safety mechanisms.
I think I’ll stay away from Glock though. Some bad rep there, and my brother bought a Glock 9 mm that jams nonstop.
Glocks can actually be ordered with a positive manual safety. Why these aren’t mandatory, I don’t know. Having the “safety” on the trigger of a gun makes about as much sense as having the brake on the gas pedal of a car.

A Glock is basically a 1911 in Condition Zero.
Yet many people who carry Glocks claim 1911’s are unsafe in Condition 1.
Makes no sense.
The only gun I will ever have is my Ruger LCP, but the trigger pull is about a mile long and twice the poundage of a Glock.
