You seem to be new on FR. Welcome!

"The Iranian regime deal, aka negotiations" is not a new event. The Iranian regime embarked on the nuke program soon after Iraq-Iran war ended; as early as 1991-1992.

What has stopped the Iranian Mullahs (Khomeinist) Regime from developing nuke technology or acquiring nuclear weapons, since early 1990s? And who is to say, with any certainty, the Iranian Mullahs (Khomeinist) Regime don't already possess nukes?

Doesn’t the Constitution ha e something to say about treaties becoming part of the law of the land and only validated by Congress? But then that’s so old fashioned.

Congress are IDIOTS if they're asking permission to have authority for authority the Constitution has already given them. IDIOTS.

They need to start threatening Barry with arrest.

Posted this;

The main problem here is that our Congress is guilty of dereliction of duty in that it has given away it’s exclusive Constitutional power of legislation to the executive without retaining the powers of oversight and concurrence.

on a thread yesterday and it fits here.

Unfortunately the members of Congress who did this are long past reprisals. The situation could be remedied if the Democrats would grow a pair and rise up against their President like the Republicans did against Nixon. But that would call for them to put the interests of the nation ahead of their own.

Bear in mind that Congress can always exercise its constitutional Article I, Section 7, Clause 2 power to override presidential vetoes with 2/3 majority vote of each House. But I don’t see that happening with this corrupt, RINO-controlled Congress.

Go over to the right scoop and listen to Mark Levins speech this a.m.

I’m Catholic, and it seems to me that Levin is the only one speaking out for the Coptic Christians.

I am at this time so very ashamed that our Bishops have not had the guts to defend the Christian faith.

How fricken odd that they spoke up as one in supporting Net neutrality.

The world is truly upside down.

Irregardless of those cowardly Bishops.

The gates of hell shall not prevail against the the One True and Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church.

Even if there be only one true Catholic remaining upon this earth, per Anne Catherine Emmerich.

Nothing new here... The Congress sucks and the President has the power it seems...so get it on! We have a bunch of wimps in “Congress” so just give it up! The Constitution means little to them.

Huh? This is a complete non-story. Congress generally doesn’t “weigh-in” on any treaties. They can have their say and maybe the Executive listens, but I don;t think Congress is actually involved much in negotiations, they just vote to ratify or not anyways.

I believe that this will be a memo of understanding between Iran and the US....thus skipping the treaty necessity of dealing with the Senate. As silly as it is....it’ll be played out in April when the US does some type of memo with Cuba (our first chance to watch this unfold).

Crap like this proves the rinos are inept. The congress is supposed to not only weigh in, but approve of any deal with Iran. It’s called the constitution. When the gop presents a bill for Obama to sign giving them the authority to do their duty it tells the world they don’t believe they have the authority to do it without his approval.

Any treaty or agreement has to be ratified by Congress or it is void

It’s hard to decide which is worse — a president who refuses to allow Congress to weigh in on anything it wants to weigh in on, or a Congress that refuses to stand up for itself and the Constitution by defying such tyrannical dictates.

Even if John Boehner and Mitch McConnell cave in to the president, is there not a single Republican in Congress or the Senate willing to stand up in the House or Senate chambers and speak in favor of their Constitutional rights? Someone who will recite the relevant passages of the Constitution and Federalist Papers assuring Congress the right to weigh in on treaties? Who will even ACT like he cares even if he doesn’t?

Where are Ted Cruz and Rand Paul who once spent hours filibustering before the Senate, even reading passages from Doctor Seuss, to promote issues we can’t even remember, now that a constitutional crisis is upon us and we need their voices to be raised in the Senate and anywhere else they can find a microphone?

Dictatorship is coming, but apparently not a single Paul Revere exists in the entire Republican Congressional caucus who will alert the American people to it before it crushes us.
