The Republican Who Can Win
PJMedia ^ | 3/1/2015 | Andrew Klavan

Posted on 03/03/2015 9:45:18 AM PST by RightGeek

I sincerely wish that GOP candidates who cannot win the presidency would simply not run and save us all the trouble. Ben Carson, Chris Christie, Lindsey Graham, Rick Perry — none of these people is going to be the next president of the United States and each of them could do his country and his party a service by staying out of the race. Rand Paul and Mike Huckabee both stand a slim shadow of a ghost of a chance but I wish they’d drop out, too. Presidential Candidate is not supposed to be a prestigious line on your CV. It’s something you become when you think you have a real opportunity to do some good to your native land.

As for those who have a path to victory — Scott Walker, Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz — I will now tell you which one is the truly viable candidate, the only Republican who could actually win the general.

The Republican who can win the general is whichever one realizes that he is running against the news media.

The Democrats have nothing. Their presumptive candidate is a corrupt old crone who has lied to and double-dealt this country far too long. Their current president has done us the favor of showing us the utter worthlessness of the leftist agenda. He has made the collective life of the country worse at every level except the executive level. When it comes to the Democrats and their philosophy, the white is coming off the sepulcher.

But while the left has no practical or moral legitimacy and no candidate who can plausibly represent even their empty promises, they do have one weapon left: the news media. NBC News, ABC News, CBS News, CNN, the New York Times, the Washington Post — each one of these corrupt mouthpieces and all their little acolytes and satellites not only speak for the Democrats but seek to destroy anyone who stands against them. We’ve seen the signs in these last weeks as Scott Walker’s star has risen and the Democrat toadies have rushed out to hound him with meaningless questions in hopes of a “gotcha” moment.

Do you believe in evolution? Is Barack Obama a Christian? Does Barack Obama love America? And soon to come: Do you believe in abortion in cases of rape and incest? Even worse, if a Republican candidate fumbles any of these answers, Candy Crowley won’t even rush in to help him out!

“That kind of thinking got the first Clinton elected twice. The same kind of people who did that might as well elect a Clinton for a third time”

That is dware’s goal.

Unless he is so stupid he really doesn’t understand it.

The other alternative is a malfeasant misanthropy.

RE:” They didn’t care if they won in 08 or 12.”

Hold your horses, McCain was a war hero and Romney was the architect of health care reform.

There are no better candidates than them.

Not to mention picking Palin and then Paul Ryan.

The next GOP candidate will have to come across like a revolutionary. Really pull out all the stops.

Otherwise people will not bother to vote. They won't go for more of the same.

Ted Cruz is THE MOST POWERFUL candidate- Scott Walker should team up with him

My IDEAL would be Palin/Cruz then Cruz/Walker

When Hannity was there he polled the crowd by applause and forget to mention Sarah Palin- he asked “did I miss anyone” and I could hear people shouting “Palin” - I would have loved to have hear that applause by comparison

I mostly agree with you, but some folks seem to be missing the point that the GOP isnt some giant monolith, but is made up of individual candidates who occupy spots on a broad political spectrum. Is it not debatable whether throwing down a blanket refusal to vote for all GOP candidates just becausr they choose to run with an “R” after their names is a good course of action or not.

So if you want to join in making the case that Ted Cruz is an unacceptable candidate if he wins the GOP nomination and runs under the GOP banner feel free. But expect a lot of pushback, valid pushback IMHO, from reputable Conservatives.

The MSM is THE MOST dangerous entity in the United States of America.

PERIOD!!

Control the media...control the people.

It's proven. Look at the past. History doesn't lie.

The liberal media told us over and over that John McCain was the only republican that could win in a general election. How did that work out for us?

True.

But dems also have another woman - one who lied about being a minority in order to give herself advantage. Is that more or less ethical than taking money from terrorists countries for a retirement slush fund... oops I mean 'foundation'....

On the one hand Lieawitha didn't rake in the big bucks like Hillary... but she was taking from 'the least among us'... which is more tacky... but not as corrupt... or is it?

Democrat 'ethics' - - sooooo complicated.. Which type of rape is worse? Or this 'strong arm tactic' vs 'that strong arm tactic'... Maybe Andrew Klavan can translate liberal 'ethics' for the rest of us...

Don't forget that Romney is also the architect of same-sex "marriage" and the "assault weapons" ban.

The Democrats don't hate Romney because of his politics, they hate him because he succeeded (in Massachusetts no less) in implementing the same leftist agenda that they had been unsuccessfully pushing for decades.

He’ll be running against the news media, the education system, AND the creators of popular culture.

Control of these 3 forces is what gave us Obama, Obamacare, the homo agenda, and the foreign policy of a third-world communist country.

The sad thing is that, given the GOP field in 2008, they were probably right. Particularly after Fred Thompson imploded.

Same with 2012 and Romney.

We’re fortunate this cycle in having two top-notch Conservative candidates in Cruz and Walker. Neither is perfect, but both are magnitudes better than anyone else in the last two cycles.

Too late. These ignorant rotten traitorous pieces of filth need to be treated for what they are. GOP voters are only pushing the party further to the left. Nice win last November, RINO lovers. Morons must be happy we still have ocare, and the GOP is caving in left and right, stumbling over themselves to kiss obola’s a$$. No thanks. I won’t have any part of it, and I will continue to ridicule and belittle the rotten worthless GOPRINO lovers for the ignornat screwballs they are.

Don’t even go there ifinnegan

The GOP is at fault- not dware.

I am SO SICK Of this ‘vote for GOP OR ELSE HilLIARy wins’ mantra.

We held our noses and followed the GOP 3 times.

Apparently a vote for the establishment GOP candidate is ALSO a vote for HilLIARy, don’tcha think?

If Palin runs I am voting for her. If the GOP runs another establishment they shoved down our throats, I will not vote.

” Romney makes lots of $$$...everyone loves a winner..”

And only a winner, gets a free dinner!

What about McCain? He married a 125 million dollar beer distributorship in Phoenix. Of course rumor here is his wife put him on an allowance, because he lost too much money gambling at various Indian casinos : )

I am not a big fan of Romney but he was light years a better nominee than McCain. He at least stood up to Obama. McCain is basically on the same side as Obama. I have zero respect for McCain.
