A 10-year-old Irish boy jumped into a moving SUV to rescue his sister from a convicted sex offender, the Irish Independent reports.
The 12-year-old girl was playing outside with her brothers near the village of Cullahill when a man allegedly stopped to ask for directions and grabbed her.
As the man drove away, the younger brother jumped through the driver's window and repeatedly punched the would-be kidnapper, the paper reports.
The driver was distracted long enough the girl could jump from the moving SUV.
The 34-year-old was arrested after a 24-hour manhunt.
The Independent reported he'd been on bail for robbery but was convicted of a sexual crime against a child in the 1990s. In 2004, he was sentenced to four years in prison for abducting a 14-year-old girl, according to the newspaper.
Police describe him as "very volatile and dangerous."
The children's father told the newspaper he's "extremely proud" of his young son.
I’d like to shake that young man’s hand. That’s a lot of guts for twelve years old!
Most kids freeze-they both responded well, their parents should be proud and grateful.

As he should be. However, that father could have lost two children that day. Kids should be warned to never talk to strangers.

In this country, the parents could be hauled into family court for letting the 10 year old “play outside without adult supervision”.

Child sex predators should never be released from prison as it has been proven that they never get over their perversion.
Four years, great isn’t it? If that girl’s father would’ve lumped that pedo up, he (the father) would’ve gotten more than four years.

The Brits should take a lesson from this boy, instead of showing cravenness while Mohammedans abduct and rape their girls.

Now that he got his clock cleaned by a ten year old, wonder what he will do next?
The Irish newspapers usually refer to child molesters as “buggerers”.

Someone that abducts a kid because of their perverse impulses will NEVER be rehabilitated. The only cure is a warm piece of lead to the head.
