We need to be on our knees and praying and on our feet and fighting.

In order to have limited government you need to have unlimited resources.

Who made that rule up?

I reject your basic premise.

I wrote it. It should be self evident.

The framers of the constitution wrote lived in a world of unlimited resources.

The mythology of the world of limited resources that we know today only started about +-1970 when US oil production peaked, US dam building came to an end, and the apollo program came to an end. Writers like Paul Ehrlich who wrote the Population Bomb —Or The Club of Rome’s Limits of Growth all declared we’d entered a world of limits.

When you have limited resources you need more government to adjudicated over limited resources. That’s the liberal point.

If you want less government you have to drain the swamp of government’s reason for being — you have to kill the need for government oversight of limited and dwindling resources. How? by creating a world of unlimited resources.

Only thing missing from that speech was: “Imagine a First Lady who knows how to dress appropriately and attractively!”

Snip: Instead of a President who boycotts Prime Minister Netanyahu, imagine a President who stands unapologetically with the nation of Islam.

Thanks for the link.

Fox needs to correct the quote. He said "...imagine a President who stands unapologetically with the nation of Israel.

I’m not sure Reagan ever IMAGINED a country with no IRS, or else how would he have paid his large military bills which buried the Soviet union finally. So maybe we can imagine an IRS under a new name The Fund for International and Border Security, and Killing Ebola if it gets in.

Pulling together and making the country great again is fine, but how do we get all the overpaid executives who have offshored our industry jobs to bring them back home, and don’t bring up that old, “Our Business Taxes are Too High,” BS, since a lot of the major ones pay zero taxes anyway and pay their executives multi million dollar salaries. I remember the fury I felt as my small amount of stock in GE plummeted from $50 to $5 in 2007, and then in 2008 discovered that at the same time the top 7 GE officers were being paid from $11 to $22 million. Sheesh.

Forbes in 2013 estimated that Worldwide Electric Vehicle Sales to Reach 3.8 Million Annually by 2020

Overly optimistic projections. I'll believe it when I see it. More than five years ago in 2009, my liberal brother-in-law argued with me at a family gathering that there would be no more gasoline powered cars within five years, that electric vehicles would take over and be everywhere. I told him to put his money where his mouth was, and made a $100 bet on it. Five years passed, and he welshed on the bet, claiming dementia. I should have put the bet in writing. He's lost money on investments in solar panels and other so-called sure things.

Thanks for posting. I finally got a chance to watch the speech. Truth be told, it didn’t really matter to me so long as it was competently delivered. And he exceeded my expectations. :-)

I already decided awhile ago that I was in if he decided to run. He’s running, so I’m in.

We’re in for a hellacious fight. Reminds me of the last existential political battle we had in 1980. Except in this case the opposition is a lot more evil.

Cruz message will win out - over time. I’ve thought so for months, and now more than ever.

Hear hear. I've concluded the very same thing. The founding ideals of America - properly enunciated, and with the requisite passion - can't help but win the public over to Ted's side.

Thanks for the ping, Jim. I looked for a live thread this morning during Ted's speech, but there was none. Our local AM talk channel cut away from regular programming and played the whole speech. Thank you, WBAP! It was the most inspiring thing I've heard in quite some time.

To top it off, Ted did it off the cuff, without the use of notes or a teleprompter, which says EVERYTHING about what lies at the core of this man's being.

You can't speak so eloquently and so passionately about a thing, unless you truly own it in your heart. I can't overstate how important this one observation is about the man.
