Got food poisoning from egg drop soup in a Chinese joint once. It was lukewarm and thick. For the next four days I lived in a cheap hotel room and was unconscious for about 80 of the 96 hours. For the sixteen I was awake, I wished I was dead. Must’ve lost about 10 pounds before I could hold anything down. Worst sickness I ever had.
The nastiest McDonalds I ever saw was in central Philadelphia in the ‘70s.
Around here, many Chinese restaurants get written up by health department inspectors over and over again. They don’t seem to care much. I only know of one that got closed down.
I love Chinese food, but unless I know the health history of the place, I don’t use the Chinese restaurant. They also use food products produced in China...

How did you know it was the egg drop soup?
Oh, I suppose it could have been something else but, as I said, the soup was lukewarm, viscous and a perfect medium. I just assumed but it was that joint, though. Never. Ever. Want to go through that again.
