Homegrown extremist threat remains 20 years after Oklahoma City bombing

(CNN)—Twenty years ago, on April 19, 1995, Timothy McVeigh detonated a massive truck bomb in front of the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. The attack killed 168 men, women and children, injured hundreds more, and remains the deadliest act of domestic terrorism in U.S. history.

The attack's aftermath saw a storm of media coverage with themes such as "attack on the heartland" and America's "lost innocence." In fact, the bombing took the country by surprise. It wasn't simply the scale of the tragedy that drew attention, but the fact that the bombing exposed something new: American citizens targeting their own government with a deadliness hitherto unseen.

The public became aware of the true danger of the extreme right. Reports connected McVeigh and his accomplice Terry Nichols to anti-government ideology movements, such as the militia movement, as well as to white supremacist causes.

Oh, I do remember how the main stream media tried to pin the blame on McVeigh being a Christian extremist, which he wasn't, he was an avowed atheist.

Bill Clinton blamed talk radio, (can you say Rush Limbaugh?).

Yup, right-wing terrorism seems to be the focus of the Obama regime.

But at least right-wing extremism isn't as dangerous as climate change is to these people.

Right wing, home grown extremists. Obama’s “Squirrel” to deflect his Muslim roots and religion and blatant refusal to address the problem of religious Muslim zealot infiltrators within our borders and those sappers outside our border aching to destroy us.

OK, judged by raw body count it was the deadliest. But the most diabolical act of domestic terrorism remains Waco.

They couldn’t wait to execute Timothy McVeigh could they? And what about the Iraqi connection to the bombing?

I’m still looking for those “Six dark complected men, of Middle East extraction, last seen fleeing the scene in blue jogging suits”. As ABC reported that morning.

“but the fact that the bombing exposed something new: American citizens targeting their own government with a deadliness hitherto unseen.”

The United States Capitol shooting incident of 1954 was an attack on March 1, 1954, by fourPuerto Rican nationalists; they shot 30 rounds from semi-automatic pistols from theLadies’ Gallery (a balcony for visitors) of theHouse of Representatives chamber in theUnited States Capitol. They wanted to highlight their desire for Puerto Rican independence from US rule.

Interesting thing, this selective amnesia liberals seem to suffer from.

The ADL compiled an interesting list of right-wing conspiracies and attacks here:

http://www.adl.org/assets/pdf/combating-hate/Right-Wing-Plots-Acts-Conspiracies-1995-2015.pdf

Most of them are just loner nuts, but there are enough true conspiracies to worry those of us with respect for the law and Constitution.

They are afraid of anyone who wouldn’t violate their principles due to their religious beliefs.

John Doe number 2. Which they never really looked for after they found the patsy. And don’t forget that TWA flight that was shot down.

Many people here might be unfamiliar with the Mountain Meadows Massacre of 1857, which killed at least 120 men, women and children, and maybe more.

Where CNN is really heading: Timmothy McVeigh=anyone not subscribing to the left wing agenda. Anyone criticizing Obama or Billary. Anyone who owns a gun. Anyone and everyone depending on the moment and need.

This guy writes all about how dangerous "right wing terrorism" is, but the article's link to the FBI's Most Wanted Domestic Terrorists features left wing terrorists EXCLUSIVELY.

So, to recap, all of the FBI's most wanted domestic terrorists are leftists, because right wing terrorism is such a threat.

In other words, CNN, we should all pay no attention to those behind the curtain in the “Hands Up Don’t Shoot” crowd advocating violence against police and, let’s just say it, white people in general. We should pay no attention to those “mythical” ISIS extremists and their litany of horrors. Oh no, the real threat is from those who don’t share your political ideology, like gun owners.

I just got to the second one that list. I remember the story about Chevie Kehoe killing the gun dealer and family. Although it was true that Kehoe could be considered anti-gov’t nut, this crime was murder with robbery as a motive, not domestic anti-gov’t terrorism as is described in ADL.
