Just heard this DA got A $4,000 campaign contrubutions from Freddie Gray’s lawyer.
BTW anybody know why there’s no grand jury on this one, but there was in ferguson.
ALSO the case is still murky, with the witness in the van, and and the securing issue, which IMO sounds like negligence not murder.
The witness in the van was ultimately not charged with anything, and now that he's on the street again he is beginning to recant his story.
Baltimore has paid out MILLIONS to people it PD has provided “rough rides” to. To think this guy wasn’t strapped down due to simple negligence would require the “willful suspension of disbelief”. Don’t believe me, feel free to google it yourself.
Secondly even if you were to suspend disbelief to the point of its just negligence, that’s still at least manslaughter.
Unless there is evidence that the suspect killed himself, which is an even bigger laughable assumption on its face... The PD and officers involved are culpable for his death.
How many knots are folks going to try to twist themselves into trying to avoid the reality that this thing stinks to high heaven? Already tried to latch onto the lie that the suspect had a broken neck prior to the arrest... LIE.... etc etc etc.
This absolutely should be going forward as a criminal case, the very least manslaughter. That trial will hopefully lead to finding out what actually happened, but to think cops can just “screw up” and a man being dead in their custody is not something worthy of consequences is idiotic.
I’ll tell you why there was no grand jury. This is a politically motivated case of prosecutorial over reach. This prosecutor knew she would not get a true bill on some of these charges, the 2nd degree murder charge, for sure.
