If you don’t have a good potential candidate, then you send out someone to draw fire until you’re ready to unveil your real candidate.
This is all part of Obama’s scheme to get Michelle in. He’s just biding his time, letting Hillary take all these body blows and get weaker and weaker. Then he will work back channels to get the Dems to toss Hillary overboard but with no Dem in a position to mount a campaign that late into the process. No one except Michelle. You don’t even need a campaign, just crank up the same 2012 coalition of blacks, Hispanics, labor etc. They really do like her and what better way to ensure that his legacy is not undone than Michelle.

Hillary is all-in on the state of education in this country.
1) Hillary has to run, the Clinton's took too much money for her to not run.
2) If she wins: the hands will come out expecting to be rewarded for their generosity.
3) Hillary may deep down actually prefer to lose: She is old, tired, no longer up to the job. Losing allows them to keep the bounty they have taken in.
4) If she loses; she goes on the cardboard chicken circuit collecting fees and travel costs for as long as she wants.
5) Look for her to then focus on making Web's daughter the first female president.
None of it matters. What matters is 2.5 billion to spend, 5-point advantage in the mainstream media coverage, illegal alien voters, absentee votes from the insane and elderly in care facilities, and voter fraud. And, of course, private investigators to destroy anyone who gets in the way.
I'm hoping, about a year.
Oh, I hope the Dems don’t wake up till she IS the nominee. When she’s polling around 35% after Labor Day 2016, and going downhill from there.

Briefly watched CNN last night--they actually had a Republican woman countering a Democrat shill-for-Hill. The Democrat woman was gushing over how wonderful Hillary is and how wonderful it will be to have a woman President...she thought that younger voters just aren't familiar with what happened in the 1990s and when they learn more then Hillary's approval will just keep climbing. She also claimed Hillary was the only one addressing the problems of the middle class. (It's remarkable how tweeting a few slogans can make you the problem-solver.)
So the Democrats have to hope that the election turns on meaningless slogans (like in 2008) and identity politics and that all the substantive issues get pushed aside.
Let me throw out a Hypothetical scenario here: say Lindsey Graham runs on the Repub ticket and is pushing hard in the headlines. Conservatives would rise up with RINO, no balls, more democrat than republican etc. etc. So now Hillary runs on the Dem ticket and there are no or at least very few Liberals saying anything bad about her even her opponents??? why? we all know she is not liked even by a lot of Liberals but no one speaks out. I believe it is because the Democrats are more in unison with “win” than consequences. What do you think or am I way off base here?
