Officials reveal TWO Philadelphia-area trains were 'shot at' within minutes of crash

Federal officials this weekend revealed the train that crashed Tuesday, killing 8, was one of two struck by objects that day.
Investigators are now looking into the possibility the doomed train's windshield was struck in the moments before the crash.
Amtrak, meanwhile, has been ordered to expand speed-restriction system in area of derailment in Philadelphia.
NTSB investigators, however, said Sunday that no communication from the train indicated it had been hit by an object.

EPTA, Southeast Pennsylvania Transportation Authority, said there's no indication the object that hit the commuter rail train is related to the Amtrak derailment.

Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter on Friday reports of an unknown projectile 'had nothing to do' with the deadly crash.

I think there were anti-tank missiles being fired at the trains too. Then there were the IED's all over the place.

I assume the train was still traveling at over twice the suggested speed limit - correct? That fact hasn't been changed by the MSM. If so, its still the homo's fault.

The homos are really pulling out all the stops to protect their own regardless if he wasguilty of bad or negligent behavior or not. They went into protection mode as soon as they found out he was gay not caring if he were respomsible for the derailment or not or the facts.

I hope that they gave this guy a full physical exam (including blood work and drug screens) before he was released. I also hope that they’ve gotten warrants to seize his personal computers, hard drives and phone records. But I worry that they may not have done this given their attempts to deflect.

My best guess at this point? Possibly a failed suicide attempt.

Sometimes it’s a confluence of events.

Like the single viable alternate JFK theory that while Oswald was trying - and failing - to shoot Kennedy, one of the Secret Service agents trying to protect & evacuate him accidentally shot him in the head.

Maybe while the train driver was...otherwise preoccupied, somebody coincidentally was shooting at the train at a low-speed turn area. If you’re going to attempt such a terroristic attack on a train, that’s probably an effective location to do so. If so, surprised the he11 out of the shooter...

Just a thought.

We need to see how fast other trains take the curve. Could be that engineers like to flathat around this curve. Wasn’t there a cruise ship that went over because the captain deliberately pulled a tight curve, to see if he could do it the fastest?

Gee, I wonder how did that windshield get cracked? The train was only doing about 105mph..

This thing even has tree branches embedded in the wipers among all kinds of other damage.

Yep. If I'm in a room of a house, or whatever, and something strikes a window, I'm going to recoil away from that window. It's a natural reflex, and is done automatically.

Could that engineer have bumped up against the throttle while doing that? Someone who really knows the layout of a train's cab will have to weigh in on this.

WOW I learn something new everyday, apparently gunshots make trains go from 50 to 106 miles per hour..that is one heck of a bullet, I knew those little suckers were powerful but dang..and your right, the media has been kissing that homo Engineer’s ass since day 1, they have to protect one of their own, Obama supporter gay rights activist..if he were a Conservative the media would have declared him a murderer and demanded he be hung in the town square

The entire right side of the engine sustained an impact so great, it compressed and deformed the right side body of the engine, right at the window frame.

Note how high the tree/large bush branches are embedded into the the front end. It even bent the left windshield wiper arm near the round shattered area (on our right).
