Roger that. With teens, college age and up to about 35-40 year olds, you can attribute it to the government indoctrination centers known as public schools. With muzzies now owning and publishing the school text books, changing it to Moohamid Obin Osama Obama Bin Laden as being the guy who discovered America instead of the Jewish guy Christopher Columbus, and since that Doubleday guy did not invent baseball, it was some guy named Obin Obomb A-military Installation. All these young folks have been brain washed by the gov-mint school systems. Colleges are anti-Israel, pro commie, pro muzzie, pro dimocrats, pro Obama. That is the damage the dimocrat party has perpetrated on this nation. This nation is dying of a fatal wound. It is called sin. This nation is dying, barely alive on life support. One nudge. One small nudge will send this nation over the edge and end its days. That day is very, very, very near. I don’t think this nation is capable of national repentance. A few individuals can and will. But as a nation, I don’t think it is possible.

You can excerpt up to 300 words. Doing that often makes it unnecessary to go to the article.

Much of the country has pulled too far left.

I read the first dozen reader comments. They are wayyyyy left, and don't even realize how destructive their positions are. It makes interesting reading.

Hey Peter Wehner of the NY Times, are you afraid to speak truth? What you meant by too far to the left is have the democrats gone full blown communist.

From 1896 onward, there have been only TWO instances where the Democrats ran non-leftist Presidential nominees, in 1904 with centrist Judge Alton Parker (who wanted to get away from the WJ Bryan dominance of the party, which was a loser) and lastly in 1924 with ex-Wilson Solicitor General John W. Davis (1924 being the final time both parties ran non-leftist nominees, with the left being in hysterics and running to leftist Republican Sen. Bob La Follette, Sr. to be their standard-bearer).

JFK would be somewhere between GHW Bush and GW Bush on the liberalism scale.

Just to show how the parties have moved.

The Democrats went over the cliff in 1972 when they ran George McGovern.

That might depend on where those commenters are concentrated. If they are all in the NYC metro area, then it’s not that big a deal IMO. Anyone living in that Thunderdome nightmare has to be coo-coo for Cocoa Puffs.

But then again, this is an internet website accessible to all who subscribe. The libtards making those depressing comments could be widely dispersed (this is all idle speculation on my part). Do all online NYT readers start their day with the `fishwrap of record’? And what are their numbers? Do they occupy positions of power or influence?

Our country is doomed only if we allow it. Even residents of New York state & Connecticut have risen in revolt against tyrannical gun laws in those states. In other parts of the country, Muslims rather than liberals act as the shock troops of the New Order. And they are much easier to spot.

Take heart, FRiend. Things looked bad in early 1942, but even then Adm. Yamamoto was warning Tojo & the warlords that invading America would be impossible because “there will be a rifle behind every blade of grass”.

Now, “there will be a CWP in every wallet” to give our enemies pause.

To a modern Democrat, there is never too far to the left. Marx/Engels were middle of the modern road in many lib minds.

Thanks for the pep talk.

Sometimes reading the “news” gets downright depressing.

The Democrats went over the cliff in 1972 when they ran George McGovern.

George McGovern is practically Dwight Eisenhower compared to most of the people running that party today.

I was basically referring to the battle by the left wing of the Democrats in the 1890s (led by NE Rep. William Jennings Bryan and radical IL Gov. John Altgeld) to rest control from the Conservative Bourbons (embodied by President Cleveland). One of the key issues was over the Gold Standard. Cleveland opposed the radical notion of Free Silver espoused by Bryan (at the time, there were some Free Silver Republicans, but those folks would end up with the Democrats before long).

Reading up on the Free Silver movement, Altgeld, Bryan, et al, might prove interesting.

There are currently 31 Republican governors compared with 18 for Democrats. Republicans control 68 of 98 state legislative chambers and the most state legislative seats since the 1920s. Nearly half of Americans now live in states under total Republican control. The Obama years have been politically good for Mr. Obama; they have been disastrous for his party.

Not only are democrats NOT going to 'shape the revolution' but they also killed off the liberal mainstream media - including the New York Times.

Obama bit the hand that fed him - then he chewed up the hand and spit it in the face of the fawning press....

This is in the NYT? Wow small miracle.

Obama did what we could never do - he killed off the MSM...destroyed their credibility and made them look like fawning fools.

It's amazing some of them are starting to see what's happening... figured the Stockholm syndrome had kicked in long ago. Peter Wehner is a rarity... maybe there's hope.
