I do agree 100%. I was only suggesting that he may have a deal in place where he is not under oath and thus the entire exercise is useless. This has been done before. Everything is for “show”.

Not if the questioning is for discovery. Your comment would hold true at a trial, where discovery had already been concluded. However, a discovery deposition is pretty wide open, and its intent is to uncover and discover information. Thus, in discovery, many questions are asked because the answer is NOT known.
