It took less than two days for the press to take a story about a white South Carolina man who shot and killed nine black churchgoers, and turn it into a story about the Confederate battle flag flying outside South Carolina's state house.
For media, the flag as a supposedly influential symbol of racial oppression and hate represented an issue that required immediate attention and hours of coverage. By Friday, the press' focus on the flag was intense.

Once the members of that church stood up and offed Christian forgiveness to the killer, the story lost all traction for the media. They then moved into a confederate flag debate, which is a loser because you cannot legally ban the display of a flag.
So the press is just in the last throws of their ineffective meltdown. No one in the South is going to stop using it, and they know this.
So, let me get this straight - if that flag hadn’t been flying over the SC Capitol, these murders wouldn’t have happened? Are these people delusional or what? Remove all the Confederate flags, and by golly - the murder rate will instantly decrease. It works great in Chicago....oh wait.,

They have turned it into a reason to accuse someone of racism. Just like half the words in the dictionary.
It's how the Left (and some useful tools that think they're on the Right) go about destroying the Constitution. They make the issue about an irrelevant object that incites emotions on both sides while the real issue is the 1st and 10th Amendments and not the freaking flag.

2 years, 4 months - Slavery existed under the various flags of the Confederate States of America from 1863 until the war’s end on April 9, 1865
I have a front licence plate that has an American Flag and a Confederate Battle Flag together. I’ m thinking of removing it from my truck and hanging it up in my garage.
I’m concerned that I am making myself and family a target of some wacho.

My sister and I had words about this Friday. She believes that the whole state of South Carolina is racist because that flag is flown over the Statehouse.
We have another sister who lives in Columbia.
That sister says she believes the races get along better in South Carolina than other Southern states.
No question.
