Kind of a dichotomy of crazy going on this thread.. (I think it's a southern thing?) So, the confederate flag was a democrat flag, but everyone here apparently hates Romney for wanting to get rid of it.. seems odd. The whole "it's history" argument is equally idiotic.

You won't see someone from the north carrying around a flag with a burnt witch on it claiming "I'm not for burning witches this is just historical". Truly moronic. I wonder how many southerners dislike the term "African-American" because we should all just be Americans. Drop the stupid rebel flag and join the union already.

this is a diversionary tactic. All Republican candidates should say "Ok, do what you like with the flag. To me it's a historical artifact. Let the people and the courts decide. I have no opinion"

Otherwise the entire 2016 election will be about the flag and the "racial overtones" rather than about socialist issues
