Hired professional petition workers are signing peoples' names in our neighborhood
self | July 2, 2015 | vanity

Warning - A petition worker came by yesterday to ask for our signatures and knew everyone's name in the household. We declined to sign. Later, Mr. b overheard one of the workers asking the other what happens if no one signs the petition. The guy told him that they write in the signatures themselves. Mr. b reported it to the elections office and to someone else in the courthouse. We'll wait until the petition is turned and to see if our names are on it and then report it to the county attorney.

Please be aware of this practice in your neighborhoods.

First you say it is a petition and then you say it is a survey. Which is it?

I worked one of these in Portland Oregon years ago.
We were instructed is if any invalid signature shows up, the entire page is thrown out.
We were told to be upfront and to be nice at all times.

This sounds like more Obama Thugs

Hispanic lady that could barely speak english came to my door the other day and wanted to survey me about the environment.

Hope Mrs. Frog and Mr. Shotgun were watching the back door while all that palaver was going on.... you know "they" like to do that. Someone made that play not too long ago in my neighborhood. I know of a case when a neighborhood couple who were gardening were victimized by a criminal working for Asplundh (tree trimmers) on contract to the power company, cutting limbs in the utility right-of-way. Guy deliberately dropped a limb in their back yard then asked permission to retrieve it. They gave it, and he was in their back door in a flash and got the Mrs.'s good jewelry from the upstairs master BR, about $25,000 worth.

Cops were totally discouraging, told them to call their insurance company.

As one cop put it, if the guy gets around the corner with your property, it's his now as far as the State is concerned. You'll never get it back unless you had it appraised, photographed, and the stones "fingerprinted" by professionals. But you'll never see them again; they'll be fenced in China or the Middle East.

There are only three types of “professionals of record”: Certified engineers, lawyers, and doctors.

Never thought about it. Can think of one more professional certification holding group and that is architects... Such moniker notable used, with derisive impact to the true profession, to describe political promulgators such as gruber.

Voter rolls can be obtained from the county registrar of voters. In California, a sample number of signatures is verified by each county. The Secretary of State can also call for a 100% verification. Call your county Registrar and report this activity by the proponents.

They aren't professionals. They are just well-practiced. ;-D

It’s always risky to take someone’s word for anything, especially these days.

One company I worked at in the past surveyed their workers with some pretty strong questions regarding how they liked their job and management. We were PROMISED that our answers would be anonymous. It was a paper survey back then (from a separate company), but it came to each of us in a separately addressed envelope. I looked at the form carefully and found a small number on the back - which differed from others on my team. They were serialized and the information certainly COULD go straight back to my boss, under my name.

Since we were required to fill it out, I noted what a great boss and great company I worked for. LOL.

Update - the county election board called us back after the survey was turned in and said our names were not on it. She said she put three workers on the job and somehow checked not just our neighborhood but all of the county for fakes entries. Whatever, this has taught me a lesson.

Yes, never ever fill out an employee questionnaire without being ever so complimentary even if you must have a barf bag or six at your side.
