Ted Cruz has a lot of “friends.”
The Texas firebrand known for throwing Republican leadership under the bus on a regular basis dismissed the feud between Lindsey Graham and Donald Trump in a scrum with reporters Wednesday. That feud, of course, includes Graham’s charge of Trump being a “jackass” and Trump’s retaliation of giving out the phone number for Graham’s old-fashioned flip-phone.
“Who cares?” Cruz said. “Let’s focus on the issues that matter for the American people.”
Cruz had just presided over a Judiciary subcommittee hearing on Supreme Court activism. The presidential hopeful was asked about his proposed Supreme Court reforms he wants justices to face the voters on the ballot before the conversation quickly turned to the Trump-Graham brouhaha.
Cruz dismissed such questions as the media encouraging “Republican-on-Republican violence.”
Cruz, who has been called a “wacko bird” by Graham’s buddy Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., who is in his own tiff with Trump, instead refers to his rivals as “friends.”
Donald Trump is a friend. I’m a fan of Donald Trump’s. Lindsey Grahams a friend. I’m a fan of Lindsey,” the Texas senator said. “Each of them are big boys and they can take care of themselves.”
Instead, Cruz redirected the conversation, saying the more important issues are the Supreme Court which was the subject of his hearing and the Iran deal.
And Cruz is only too happy to direct his flair for superheated rhetoric on those issues.
“If Iran acquires a nuclear weapon, the odds are unacceptably high they would use that weapon. Who in their right mind would give a nation led by a theocratic, radical, Islamic zealot, the Ayatollah Khamenei who leads chants of ‘death to America’ who in their right mind would give Iran nuclear weapons and the ability to murder millions of Americans in a flash of light?” said Cruz.
“That is an issue we should be talking about, not which political candidate is bickering with another political candidate.”

I enjoy watching Lindsey with a case of the “vapors.”
He never takes the bait, yet they keep dangling it out there hoping for a slip up.
Curz it or lose it.
Go, Trump, GO!!
Go, Cruz, GO!!
Ted Cruz is the ONLY man in DC who is handling this whole Trump circus correctly.
Good answer.
One that I would have given.
I don’t know about being a fan of Lindsay, but the rest is good.
Trump’s smack-down of Gramnesty the other day was priceless.
I been waiting a long time for someone brave enough to do that.
The others all seem too scared of him.
Grahamnesty has a record of supporting Obama’s nominees, and amnesty, and he’s arrogant and annoying.
He polls like at < 1%
Trump is hillarious.
I care. Eveny minute of news coverage this childish spat generates takes from real issues like Odumbo allowing Iran to have nukes. But, we all have our priorities.
Who Cares? WHO CARES!?!?!?
“I” Care Ted. “I” care. “America” cares. You seem to think that this feud thing is not the most important thing in the history of America and Dammit it IS!!!
Iran will wait. It’s been going on for decades. This Trump thing is NOW. He called a rock ribbed conservative loved by conservative for his sense of integrity, a jackass and you do not see the earth shattering importance of that on the world stage? Where is your reason? Your decency? Screw Iran. This in IMPORTANT!
I’m sorry Ted. This is unacceptable.
THATS IT! TED CRUZ JUST LOST MY VOTE!!!
AGAIN!
Right again!
Ted Cruz = 100% CLASS ACT
Trump is silently decimating the GOPe ... is Trump perfect ? ... “no” ... is Trump giving Jeb, Marco and Karl Rove “hellish” nightmares every day ? .... “YES !!!!!!”
Yea but the thing is that the media doesn’t GAF. They will ride it regardless of anything because ratings are all they care about. And agenda. Iran does not forward either.
Norm ... with all due respect, you are an “idiot” ...
Other than grabbing news time that should have gone to Odumbo’s selling out to Iran, Trump’s spat with last place Linda Graham is meaningless.
Grudgingly, I also have to give some credit to Santorum.
He was interviewed on MSNBC yesterday My Rachel Maddow (sic?). She tried her best to get Santorum into attacking Trump. Santorum refused, saying he is not in the game of attacking other republicans.
Dear God, Someone, ANTONE...PLEASE tell me if there is an upper level of completely over the top insanity one has to get to before someone recognizes it for what it is?
