On the floor of the U.S. Senate on Sunday evening, something remarkablea little bit insider-y in Washington, but remarkable nonethelesshappened: The Senate Majority Leader, Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY)52% , his entire leadership team, and most of the Republicans in the U.S. Senate voice voted through measures to fund Planned Parenthood in its entirety and to help protect President Barack Obamas nuclear arms deal with Iran.
The reason the voice vote is significant is because McConnell, especially, and his Whip Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX)59% , purposefully launched what appears to be an unprecedented effort to duck accountability for their votesand the votes of every other GOP member who joined with them in supporting Obamas Iran deal and funding for Planned Parenthood.
The way it went down is a little bit confusing, and procedurally awkward, but its truly oddand highly unusualfor members in the United States Senate to purposefully avoid roll call votes when they are asked for one by a member of the Senate.

Lesser evil!
A missed opportunity in Texas, we have 4 more years of GOPe Cornyn.
WTH**l?
Slaughter the innocent babies guys. Slaughter the children and the rest of us with obama’s Iranian nukes too. Congratulations. You’ve not only sold us all out but now you’re getting us all killed. And for this we pay taxes
From the article, from Harry Reid’s spokesman, no less:
“But Reids spokesman, Adam Jentleson, said that even he has never seen actions like what McConnell engaged in against the Republican members of the Senate. Jentleson told Breitbart News in an email:
Ill defend filling the tree as a tactic when the leader is facing an opposition determined to use every tool available to oppose everything he does. But unlike Senator Reid, that is not the situation Senator McConnell faces; he has a cooperative minority but is filling the tree to block and silence members of his own party. Senator Reid never did that. Furthermore, Senator McConnell is going beyond filling the tree to deny his own members a sufficient second, which may be entirely unprecedented.”
FUMMc.
Americans wonder:
What defines the lying, stinking sac of sh&t that
is the GOP more?
.... Support of Obama after lying?
or .... Support of every Obama initiative after lying?
or .... Support of SECRET Obama treachery after lying?
I’d like the GOPe fanbois to point out how and why we should vote for the lesser evil STILL.
There is NO DIFFERENCE between the GOPe and the Democrat party.
Might have to switch from filling the tree to watering it.
“Filling the tree” or “felling the tree”?
They are a sickening cabal of corrupt and treasonous snakes. Too stupid to realize they are losing their own base.
A 2014 Republican land slide, all for absolutely nothing.
There is no peaceful political solution for what ails America.
HOLD THEIR FEET TO THE FIRE!!!
Not...business as usual from the demoncRAT lite apparatchiks.
Better yet, let’s refresh it.
Suckers.
“Too stupid to realize they are losing their own base.”
The GOP establishment doesn’t give a rat’s ass that they are losing their own base. They are keeping their big money corporatist-globalist donors happy and that’s all that matters to them.
With enough cash at election time an alienated base is just a minor inconvenience, and history has shown that most voters are dumb enough to fall for election-year “temporary-conservatism”.
They are demanding that we do not vote for them. THEY DO NOT WANT OUR VOTE.
No, they are not stupid.
They just don't give a f***.
Thank you for that modification... as I relied on faulty memory of the quote.
