I’ve noticed that.

As adult male lions go, Cecil was pretty old, near the end of his life.

Adult male lions do not die quickly in nature. They are driven from the pride. They have a hard time finding or catching enough to eat. They gradually weaken as they starve. Packs of hyaenas or other predators start following and dogging them. They attack, weakening the lion even further.

Eventually, often over a period of days, they are wounded and often literally eaten while alive. The predators that go after them usually attack from the rear, and that is where they start to feed.

The same thing happens to hundreds of elk, deer, elephants and other animals every day in the wild.
Often by lions.

No pity party from me.

The information about who ordered what is somewhat clouded, but the good micro-genital Palmer already had a prior about this very thing, so my money would be on “he knew darn well what was what” and is seeking to project the blame off on the contractor. That’s my gut feeling about this. He thinks he can buy his way through everything. We’ll see what happens when his dentistry practice collapses. I surely would not trust anyone who would do this to a poor dumb animal to touch any part of me. The only good thing would be that when he put his hands in your mouth, you could chomp down on them REAL HARD.

I personally dislike lions, so kill them all.

You and the Chicago police.

Cops kill cougar on North Side-Neighborhood stunned as animal cornered, shot in back alley

Emptyed their magazines. Got the lion, unmentioned in the article got the air conditioner and siding behind the lion. A little off topic, I admit.

It was a media sensation when Teddy refused to shoot a bear one of them had tied to a tree for him. Surely that contractor had done similar things, just less obviously.

Which gave us the Teddy Bear!

Cecil was in a reserve, where he could have lived another 10-12 years typically.

Mine recently left a gash on my finger that runs from the second knuckle to the cuticle.

Looks like I’ll have a nifty mark to remember him by, long after he’s gone.

Clarance the Cross eyed lion may have belonged to Disney. He was in many comic movies. The three stooges had him a couple times.

I was referring to the eaten from the rear end comment.
Lions, grizzlies, and wolves all do it that way.

The predators that go after them usually attack from the rear, and that is where they start to feed.

And no I am not clueless about nature. I just don't worship it or think the predators running the show are a great thing. If you like them so much you may want to hook up with the Sierra club or a few other puke liberal groups who are furthering agenda 21 by not allowing hunting or killing of predators even though they are clearly killing and eating everything in sight and then some.

The largest elk herd at Yellowstone has been deemed geriatric and unrecoverable thanks to the liberal pukes who keep supporting and worshipping the wolves and grizzlies there.

This site says the typical lifespan for a male lion in the wild is 12 years.

http://www.felineconservation.org/feline_species/lion.htm

I will look for collaboration, but a reserve is in the wild, not in captivity.
