America the Place vs. America the Idea [What kind of country do immigrants want America to become?]
American Thinker ^ | 08/23/2015 | Dan Joppich

On NPR news last week there were two reports coming out of Greece that I had trouble reconciling. The first was Greece’s $85 billion bailout resulting in the Greek PM stepping down. Greece isn’t just broke, it’s broken. And yet, the second story was about immigrants risking death on the seas to leave Turkey and other places to come to Greece. Obviously they are leaving broken countries where they risk death and injury at the hands of their government on a daily basis, to take a boat ride risking death and injury on the high seas, to go to another country which is not just broke but broken. It’s a strange world.

Do these mostly unskilled, uneducated Muslims go to Greece or Europe hoping to someday become Greeks or Europeans? Do they wish to embrace Western culture and raise their children in a Western society? Or are they just looking for handouts like the ones that Greece already provides to over 70% of its population?

Do Central Americans, Mexicans, and Muslims come to America because they want to become Americans?

Do they wish to embrace American culture and raise their children in an American society better than the one they left, or do they come here hoping to create Somalia in America?

Do they raise the Mexican flag on American soil and force schools in their adoptive communities to cover symbols of America because they might be offensive to some of them?

Do the predominantly unskilled and uneducated immigrants bring unemployment and the vices that accompany it like drugs, violence, crime, homelessness, dependency, etc?

For the Muslims — it is an America subservient to Sharia law.

For the Mexicans — it is an America which is reduces to a vassal stet to Mexico.

For the Chinese - it is an America where they can make money and stay separate from the general population(same as everywhere else they go in the world)

The new arrivals set about turning the USA into the very place they left:

Mexico, Somalia, Syria....

This is all headed for a very bad place.

This latest bit has NOTHING to do with stragging Micks and Poles arriving at Ellis Island.

AN INVASION.

The US Constitution is antithetical to Islam. Send them back. In fact a wall should be put up around Syria and let the Islmic folks in there develop their own utopia.

Irredentist

noun

1.
(usually initial capital letter) a member of an Italian association that became prominent in 1878, advocating the redemption, or the incorporation into Italy, of certain neighboring regions (Italia irredenta) having a primarily Italian population.

2.
a member of a party in any country advocating the acquisition of some region included in another country by reason of cultural, historical, ethnic, racial, or other ties.

(Freeps - It's somebody who arrives in your country and then after a time tells you he considers your land as belonging to HIM, and not in a good way. It means he considers you a FOREIGNER IN YOUR (former) LAND. It's a house guest who arrives, likes your house and tells you to GET OUT.

RE: I wouldn’t think they want it like the place they left.

For a clue, look at the Muslim enclaves in many parts of Europe.

The moslems want America to become a carbon copy of the hell hole they left.

Then Mexicans, want to keep their culture without the Mordida.

If everyone wants to become like America, why don’t they fight to make their hell hole more like America?

"Europe was created by history. America was created by philosophy." - Margaret Thatcher
You don't become "American" just by moving here. If you don't understand and accept the philosophy of the Declaration and the Constitution, you will not be an asset to America.

Have you ever been to south central LA? "Chinatown" in San Fran? They want it exactly like the sewers they came from. That is why we don't want them here.

America the Place vs. America the Idea [What kind of country do immigrants want America to become?]

That's easy. They want it to stay wealthy and prosperous so it can make their lives better. The fact that they are bringing ideas which will change it into the third world hellholes from which they came is beyond their ability to comprehend.

They keep shoving it down our throats - immigrant.

These are not immigrants. These are illegal invaders and need to be hunted down by our country and people.

Need to be rounded up and marched back across the border, not bussed or flown but driven like cattle.

Our Government is helping by bringing these bastards in and sticking them in our backyards. All of these need to be reloaded back up and sent back.

Tired of it. Turn America back to America, not some Middle Eastern or South American Cesspool.

I think your post makes the most sense and captures the situation we have today most accurately.

In other words — we are slowly being screwed unless we change things.

More evidence that "Democracy" is a truly stupid idea. This is not to say the "Democratic Process" is stupid, but the idea of letting foolish and ignorant people have a say in the disposition of the National Treasury is utter folly.

The Founders were very much against "Democracy". They created a Republic and they never intended that non-contributors should have a say in how the government is constituted.

John Adams said; Democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts and murders itself. There was never a democracy that did not commit suicide.
