Planned Parenthood videos energize pro-life movement, fuel protests nationwide

Stephanie McKee says she has opposed abortion for years, but Saturday marked the first time she had ever attended a pro-life rally. Why now?

It was the hidden camera videos, she said. “They just kept getting worse and worse,” said Ms. McKee as she stood outside the Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains, balancing an enormous anti-abortion sign with one hand and a cupcake given to her by a group of children in the other.

“After I saw those videos, I thought, ‘I have to do something,’” said Ms. McKee. “I felt like I can’t be so complacent and just sit at home and let other people do this.”

She wasn’t the only one. The seven undercover videos released since July 14 by the Center for Medical Progress have brought new life to the pro-life movement, energizing longtime activists and spurring into action newcomers shocked by Planned Parenthood’s involvement in procuring fetal tissue from abortions.

#ProtestPP, the pro-life coalition that organized the massive national demonstration, tallied at least 342 simultaneous rallies Saturday, most of those outside Planned Parenthood affiliates.

Last night, I had my first nightmare inspired by these videos.

But, all we hear about are “anchor babies”. Who cares about the slaughtered real babies?

Thank Fox News for making conservatism stupid. Twenty years ago, conservatism meant something.

No, they are being ignored by the media because Planned Parenthood is a big deal among the Ruling Class. However, the social media has got around that embargo to a remarkable extent. I attended a protest at a tiny PP office in Lewisville, TX, where more than 200 people showed up almost spontaneously to hold up placards. Lots of support by passing vehicles.

Good for you!

But, talk radio is squeamish about this. They’d rather bash immigrants. Lots better for the ratings. This SHOULD be topic #1 for ALL conservatives and libertarians. And ANYONE with a sense of decency.

But, Trump brings ratings. So, we hear about him and the PP atrocities are just an afterthought. :(

Sad thing is that The Country club faction of the REPUBLICAN Establishmrnt has always been a supporter of Planned Parenthood. The Rockefellers were big donors. Jerry Ford and his wife were pro-choice. In the 1976 campaign, Carter was the pro-life candidate! He helped get the evangelicals to join the pro-life movement. By 1980, the liberal Democrats had taken over that party and were pro-abortion, and Reagan captured the pro-life vote. Even so, many Republicans only gave lip service to the pro life course. That has change only marginally.

Ok course Bush 41 became pro-life only from expedience I am not even sure about W. I do know that their wives were openly pro-choice/pro-gay etc. It seems to have been the families way to say, well, you know what we REALLY think. For that matter, Nancy Reagan is pro-choice. To generalize: the country club set is pro-choice and so their toadies among the politicians are not going to do a dang thing if it is going to wound country-club organizations like Planned Parenthood.

I am not even sure about W.

How many actual concrete things did he do on abortion? Foreign funding (a standard government rule), and, if memory serves, he put conscience protections in during the last couple of weeks in office. Anything else?
