An openly gay Texas judge says she refuses to conduct marriage ceremonies for straight couples. No one tried to put her in jail. No federal judges tried to condemn her.

The Dallas County Judge Tonya Parker explained her decision at a monthly meeting for the Stonewall Democrats of Dallas.

“I do not perform them because it is not an equal application of the law. Period,” she said, according to the Dallas Voice, a newspaper for the gay community. Parker is believed to be the first openly “gay” African-American elected official in the history of the state, according to NY Daily news.

When judges use their personal ideals and feelings to interpret the law, it’s time for them to go. That’s not in their job definition.

Don’t care. Freedom is a two way street. Neither one should be in jail.

Well, Thomas Jefferson said that if the United States was going to fall, it would be because of the judiciary.

This thing belongs to two government-certified victim groups, and can therefore invoke privilege and get away with any and all crimes.

There is one set of laws for the hardworking slobs, and another for the privileged minorities.

I like freedom, too, but not when the rule of law is sacrificed. Let me explain.

Heterosexual marriage, or, if you object to the redefinition of the term as I do, then just simply marriage, has never being illegal, so this judge has no grounds in any situation and should be removed from the bench.

As an aside, I personally would not seek out someone like her to officiate at my wedding, anyway, because of her anti-straight attitude. She obviously has a bigger problem with my orientation than I do with hers.

Unlike militant gays out to pick a fight, I would want someone more welcoming to join me to my life mate. Obviously, for these loudmouthed activists, it is not about the joining, but merely about the fight. What a stupid, strife-filled way to start a relationship that is supposedly about only the two people involved. That’s why I suspect that the public outcry about marriage is a ruse.

The reason I stand with the judges who have refused to perform ceremonies for homosexuals is really simple. I do not accept the premise that SCOTUS has the Constitutionally granted power to, through crafty interpretation, create legislation from the bench. Nobody, not even SCOTUS, is above the Constitution. Justice Scalia is scathing in his dissent http://www.truthrevolt.org/news/scalias-full-dissent-same-sex-marriage-ruling

The judges who are refusing to marry homosexuals, whether for reasons of religious expression or the violation of the separation of powers, are doing so according to the Constitution. In some cases they are obeying their sovereign States’ Constitutions as amended by the majority of the citizens of their States. Jailing them or removing them is Federal tyranny on a huge scale and can only be stopped when the Federal Government is forced to nullify its decision. Until then, it must be opposed by these brave few who, hopefully, will be joined by others.

This fight is causing them much personal hardship. Sometimes the fight for freedom is messy business and I am thankful that they are willing to take the first arrows, lest this great country go down without a whimper.
