House Republicans revolt against Iran vote

House Republican leaders are facing a revolt by GOP lawmakers over plans to vote on a measure to disapprove of the Iran nuclear deal.

Speaker John Boehner and other GOP leaders got an earful Wednesday morning from lawmakers who say President Barack Obama has not disclosed so-called "side deals" between the International Atomic Energy Agency and Iran, and therefore is crosswise with the law that gives Congress review power over the accord.

GOP leaders are likely to change their approach Wednesday, and are now considering a vote on Rep. Peter Roskam's (R-Ill.) resolution that would delay a disapproval vote because they believe Obama has not disclosed some elements of the deal.

Boehner on Wednesday said House Republicans "had a very healthy conversation with our members this morning.

"Certainly (there is) some interest amongst the ideas offered by [Kansas Rep. Mike Pompeo], Mr. Roskam," Boehner said. "We're going to continue to have those conversations this morning."

But there's not much time. The House is scheduled to have a procedural vote Wednesday afternoon on the disapproval resolution. But Republicans are also considering delaying the Iran vote.

It’ll only take one to damage and contaminate the city to the extent it will be uninhabitable. Can you imagine what that will do to the financial industry?

Someone wish to educate myself on a sticking point, please?

How is this ‘deal’ NOT a treaty, aside from calling it so?

Is it not between international entities?
Is will be followed by those within D.C., thus ‘binding’?
Does it not remove/modify currently existing Law(s)?

I mean, IMO, an Agreement is a TYPE of Treaty (and/or vice versa); a difference without distinction.

Normally, however the Corker law for this agreement gives them one.
The conservatives’ plan to declare the Corker agreement has not been met leaves the Executive with it’s normal foreign affairs prerogatives. But apparently some aspects of the deal go beyond that.

I’m betting on a single delivery vehicle that’s undetectable. The key is delivering the weapon in a manner that’s entirely normal meaning no hijack, no potential for detecting a radiation source and a limited number of involved individuals.

Louis Gohmert said this morning that this is all for show the decision has already been made.

And....a comment on Breitbart "

states this interesting fact...

And isn't it INTERESTING that John Kerry's DAUGHTER is married to an an IRANIAN PHYSICIAN personally connected to THIS DIPLOMATIC ABORTION!

In 2009, Vanessa Bradford Kerry married Dr. "Brian" Vale Nahed. At their ÜBER SWANKY wedding, Dr. Nahed's "Best Man" was Mohammed Javad Zarif.

Mohammed Javad Zarif is Iran's CURRENT Minister of Foreign Affairs. Mohammed Javad Zarif is also John Kerry's CHIEF COUNTERPART in the "negotiations" for the now-concluded, DISASTEROUS IRAN NUCLEAR DEAL!

God help this nation!

Muslims won’t try a single attempt. They will try 100 suitcase nukes so that some get through. It won’t be just New York

They don’t need suitcase nukes. Getting a nuclear weapon to a seaboard city is easy peasy. New York City may have five years left at best.

I am more worried about 5-6 EMP bombs being set off about 30,000 feet. If they space it correctly it would take out 90-95% of the grid.

They’re into symbolism. That’s why NYC has been a repeat target. One large warhead will do it using a normal unexceptional delivery method with no chance of interdiction. No need to increase the risk by using a lot of people.

"The House of Representatives has no role in the making of treaties."

If this were a treaty, the Senate would be required to approve it.

It's not.

Yes. It's a treaty. It will not be ratified.

Ignore Corker-Cardin. Apart from its obvious idiocy, it's meaningless.

The only relevant question is, "has it been ratified by the Senate", obviously, the answer is no.

They fear by calling this a Tready and stopping it that when nukes come the country blames Republicans.” <<

Total bullshit!

The entire country is against the Iran deal by 10:1 or more.

Time to euthanize the “leadership.”
