Clinton Takes Tough Shot at Obama
Weekly Standard ^ | 9/9/2015 | Stephen F. Hayes

Posted on 09/10/2015 7:49:46 AM PDT by Servant of the Cross

Deep in the transcript of the interview ABC’s David Muir conducted with Hillary Clinton yesterday comes an indirect but very tough shot at the man she worked for and hopes to replace. In the course of answering a question about her mother, Clinton described her mother’s difficult upbringing and praised her for her hard work. Her mother’s experience, she said, and those struggling to get ahead today, inspire her presidential run.

“I'm gonna fight for all the people like my mother who need somebody in their corner,” Clinton said, before adding: “And they need a leader who cares about them again.”

The clear implication: America hasn’t had such a leader in recent years. And it’s hard to read that comment as anything but a shot at President Obama, who has occupied the White House for the past 6.5 years.

How many people think ‘compassion’ when they look at Hillary.

Don’t think that Obama will take this shot slightly.

I may be wrong, but wasn't her mother a Republican?

If she survives this “scandal”, she should run as a 3rd party just to ensure BO no longer has a “third term”...

That would be some delicious payback!

I am left numb by Hillary and her talk of her mother.

It’s an obvious political ploy to gain sympathy.

But, what is the point here? Her mother grew up in a dysfunctional family 80 some years ago. As times were different then, her mother was apparently compelled to be a house servant of some kind as a young teen girl, 80 some years ago.

What does the experience of her mother have to do with any problems which people are having today??? People no longer experience a situation in which a child is farmed out/given away to someone to be their servant girl.

Why does Hillary never mention her father? Is it because he was an evil Republican??? And we know Alinksyites such as Hillary can never admit any connection to evil Republicans???

Its the new, huggable Hillary.

She is heeding focus group feedback and needed an opportunity to cry for the cameras.

How stupid would anyone have to be to fall for this.

An old broad talking about her childhood is nothing but a ploy.

I would like for a leader to care about me as an individual, not classified into a group.

She’s been watching too much of “America’s Got Talent”, where the judges vote more for the contests’ sad, I’m-a-victim back stories than they do on their talent.

Is Hilary’s mother any more important than anyone else’s mother? Did her mother suffer more hardships than anyone else?

Obviously, her mother left out a few lessons in life when raising hill, like, “don’t lie”, “don’t steal”, “obey the law”, “have honor”, “have integrity”, etc.

Is her mother running for the office?

Invoking her mother’s hardship is a non-reason for electing ex-hippie Hillary to lead this nation. Hillary is a shining example of her mother’s parenting skills...children learn what they live.

Why didn’t she tell these stories about her mother while her mother was still alive?

Given Hillary’s experience with stretching the truth, I also wonder how true this sob story about her mother’s upbringing is.
