Flip Flop: Donald Trump Now Says Canadian Born Senator Cruz Is Eligible To Be POTUS
Birther Report ^ | 09/10/15

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has reversed his position on Ted Cruz’s eligibility to run for president, now saying his Canadian birthplace shouldn’t disqualify him. “I hear it was checked out by every attorney and every which way and I understand Ted is in fine shape,” Trump told ABC News just before speaking at a Capitol Hill rally blasting the Iran nuclear deal. That stands in stark contrast to what Trump said about Cruz in December, when he told ABC News that Cruz’s Canadian birth could prevent him from running

Haha. As if it isn’t already. Even with the most supportive MSM in history Obama has been underwater on the RCP poll averages for forever. Imagine where he’d be with one week’s worth of the kind of adversarial press Bush had. Probably the reelection number of 26% is Obama’s real popularity index. When people aren’t worried about being called a racist the truth comes out.

I agree with you on the impact of the media. At the same point in time in his presidency (September 14-16, 2007) with overwhelmingly negative mainstream media, George W. Bush was at 36% positive job approval and 62% negative.
With the most fawning liberal media in history, Obama is at 46% positive and 50% negative.

26% want more Obama. That is the bottom line.

“I see in history two cases that seriously threaten Ted Cruz’s position, but in this topsy-turvey world of legal made up nonsense with no consistent meaning, they may not amount to anything.”

My own honest belief is that if the intent of the founders is to be honored neither Cruz nor Rubio is eligible but what does that matter after the Obama Fiasco. If the democrats challenge Cruz they are hypocritical beyond belief but it would not surprise me. I also would not be surprised if the democrats one day want to run an Iranian Ayatollah on the grounds that he is a natural born American citizen because his father killed a natural born American citizen who was born in Norway to an Iranian father. It would certainly make as much sense as some of the recent supreme court decisions on other matters.

“It is amazing the things he has been said to say, that he didn’t say.”

Not so amazing to me, I have had people tell me to my face that I had just said something ten seconds before that I would never actually consider saying in my entire life. I could repeat back my exact words and they would still claim I said the polar opposite or resort to the old, “You may not have said it but that is what you meant.” Some people are simply beyond help. Maybe I should say an increasing number of them are beyond help lately.

Exactly. Since we have let vermin in under the wire, there is no point in keeping out a good man.

We could well use a constitutional convention to clear up this matter, among a few others. Clearly enunciating the end of birthright citizenship would be an incredibly beneficial thing.

IMHO, Cruz seems to be eligible since his mother was a citizen. But neither Rubio nor Jindal are eligible.

I don't believe birthright citizenship for the children of illegal alien residents was ever intended by the authors of the 14th amendment. There are several quotes from them that indicate they had absolutely no intention of granting citizenship to the children of people here illegally.

It is a misinterpretation of the Precedent set by the Wong Kim Ark court case that has led many to believe that this was ever allowed by the 14th amendment.

I totally believe you... it’s just that it’s murky enough that the liberal SC would jump at the chance to deliberately misinterpret it as it is.
