This is what, the third flip this week? The fourth? My dog doesn't twist that much.
Yep, they are on an all out effort.
Yawn
Well, it would be a lot simpler if either of those phrases were in the Constitution...
“Trump stands for nothing. His opinions and policies are like leaves blowing in the wind.”
You need to wean yourself off the Beck morning talk show. :=)
Right and wrong have nothing to do with it. We've entered the twilight zone. Laws have no solid meaning, they now exist in a state of quantum superposition flux. They mean whatever the judge feels like when he/she/it wakes up in the morning, and then only till he/she/it changes his mind.
I see in history two cases that seriously threaten Ted Cruz's position, but in this topsy-turvey world of legal made up nonsense with no consistent meaning, they may not amount to anything.
One of the cases is Wong Kim Ark, and the other is Rogers v Bellei.
LOL,so true.
Sounds like he learned the truth...Good for him.
I have no doubt that they have this in mind should it become necessary. As things stand, there is a good chance Trump is going to get the nomination instead of Cruz. If that happens, they won't need to implement that plan.
If Cruz gets the nomination, then I fully expect the media to come out against him when it is too late to get someone else. They don't even have to win in court, they only have to keep putting out the rumor that his status is suspect, and it will hurt him in the polls.
Ha...good one. Seriously though, I think there is a hypersensitivity by the media, but mostly those who dislike Trump, to point out what they think are flip flops. Admittedly, the Donald has made statements in the past that he differs on now, and some are pretty important. However, most of the recent “flipflops” are refuted as such when one reads the text (not just the headline) and/or watches the video. It is amazing the things he has been said to say, that he didn’t say.
From March, 2015:
“Trump Goes Birther on Canadian Born Ted Cruz”
http://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2015-03-23/donald-trump-goes-birther-on-canadian-born-ted-cruz
The way around that is Cruz and Trump on the ballot, in any order. Disqualify Cruz, you get Trump.
The leftist media conspiracy is thwarted by having a strong, conservative, electable candidate in the Vice Presidential slot who could step right in to the number one slot.
I have read what you have written several times, and I am still unable to wrap my mind around the idea. If Cruz is portrayed as unqualified by the media, how does putting them together on the ballot help anything?
Not that that isn't a good idea for other reasons...
I was responding to your point about disqualifying Senator Cruz at the last minute. If Donald Trump is (hypothetically) in the Vice Presidential slot, he could just move up to the presidential slot and a new Vice Presidential candidate would be selected.
If Senator Cruz is in the Vice Presidential slot and gets disqualified at any point in time, it is no problem to select a new Vice President, Vice President-elect or Vice Presidential candidate...we’ve currently got 16 prospective candidates in the public eye.
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has reversed his position ... when he told ABC News that Cruzs Canadian birth could prevent him from running.
A switch from “I’m not sure; we should ask” to “Yes; I asked and got this answer” is not a flip-flop.
Old news. Rehash.
Like the boss said....Trump is right.
stop talking to liberal attorneys
if he was natural born US citizen because his mother bestowed citizen at birth, which she did, then he’s also a natural born Cuban citizen as well as a natural born Canadian citizen.
that’s right... TCruz is a natural born citizen of three countries.
now, most people would scratch their head and wonder why the Founders would use such a term if a person could have multiple citizenships.
the reason is simple: it’s not possible to be a natural born citizen from more then ONE country.
check the ‘law of nation’ (1758) for the definition of ‘natural born citizen’ that was in common parlance at the time the Constitution was drafted
Does this apply to all politicos, or just Trump?
That dude lost my dry cleaning! Sue his pants off!
Okay, I can see that, but I was operating under the assumption that under your idea we would get to keep Cruz. :)
I think we will but the supposition, just for the purposes of this discussion was that he would be disqualified.
