I simply can’t imagine Ted Cruz ever, ever saying nasty things about a woman’s appearance, let alone on TV.

It’s amazing. We’re turning ourselves into pretzels making excuses and rationalizing for this man’s words.

Doesn’t matter why you said it, doesn’t matter what you do...I am one of your greatest supporters and you do no wrong in my eyes...

So you support him regardless of what he says or does? Spoken like a true cult-of-personality Trumpette.

Yes, and all these rationalizations and contortions would be great material for comedy if the underlying issues facing our country (and indeed, the entire world) weren’t so deadly serious.

Margaret Thatcher is the only female that was up to the job of leader...She had a spine of steel and most females don’t have the backbone for president....I like Sarah Palin but would never vote for her for president...Don’t see any women on the horizon that is fit for the job....but then again most of the men we have had as president were not up to the job either...The government has become so large, I doubt if anyone is up for the job..get rid of problems like the EPA, etc would cut down on expense and problems for the citizens. They love regulations cause it means they keep their jobs by harassment of us all in one way or another.

If Clueless Joe had said it it would be laughed off as “Joe being Joe”.

So you don’t have a good opinion of Golda Meir?

You are twisting yourself into a pretzel to excuse Trump’s rude, adolescent remarks.

This is not Europe. This is not Asia.

This is America, where we call a spade a spade; a face a face; and a boorish egotistical ass—Donald Trump.

I read a book on her life starting when she was a young girl and a good PM, I believe the first of the new state of Israel. but if I remember correctly, she was a also a socialist. Her love for her new country was complete. I debated with myself about also naming her, but read the book so many years ago, Thatcher was much closer to our days than Golda... So there have been 2 admirable ladies with the backbone and love of country.

The book on Golda was just called GOLDA She lived quite a remarkable life....

Indeed, like most Israeli leaders back in those days. But they were from a “communal” branch of socialism (e.g., the Kibbutzim) rather than from the Marxist-Leninist branch.

Anyway, she was tough as nails when it came to fighting for her country and her people. If she were still PM, it wouldn’t surprise me if the Israeli nukes were already primed and aboard bombers departing for Iran any minute now.
