Donald Trump didn’t mean any harm when he criticized fellow GOP 2016 presidential candidate Carly Fiorina’s face. He says he was just being the showman he is.
“Many of those comments are made as an entertainer because I did The Apprentice and it was one of the top shows on television,” he told Greta Van Susteren on Thursday night. “Some comments are made as an entertainer and as everybody said, as an entertainer is a much different ball game.”
Trump who is leading in Republican polls has said comments that would have buried many other candidates.
A Rolling Stone story Wednesday illustrates a scene where Trump watches Fiorina come onto the TV screen.
“’Look at that face!' he cries. 'Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president?!' The laughter grows halting and faint behind him. 'I mean, she's a woman, and I'm not s'posed ta say bad things, but really, folks, come on. Are we serious?'”
On Thursday night, he reiterated what he told CNN earlier — that the face comments were actually about her persona.
“We’re really talking about not a physical thing, we’re talking about the persona. This is a women that gets tremendous publicity,” he said. “I don’t know why…her past doesn’t go along with the publicity she’s getting.”
But it didn’t take long before he was back on his favorite punching bag: Jeb Bush. “When somebody knocks me like Jeb Bush or anybody else, I at least decide that I think it’s appropriate to fight back.”
Van Susteren pointed out this wasn’t his first time saying controversial comments about women.
Trump responded that he was leading with women, and many other groups.

As Rush said Trump needs to stick to the issues. I know this is Politico but the advice stands.
He needs to just shut up about this and move one. He is telling 2 different stories and that tells me he just stepped in this one. So, what it isn’t like voting for the Iranian deal or letting 10,000 refugees flood into our country or over the southern border. Just move on Donald and stop making comments of a personal nature about others. I calls ‘em as I seez ‘em.

Politico is not lying. Trump DID say what they reported on TV.

No need to explain Donald. She is Butt Ugly and there’s no escaping it.
We have to have a President that commands respect and she couldn’t do it with all the plastic surgery in the world.

Telling Trump to shut up is telling Trump to NOT be Trump.
If there’s one thing I notice about him, it is this — he tends to shoot his mouth off before he thinks. Quick on the trigger, and quick to qualify what he says he REALLY means.
That’s just the way he is. Asking him to change at this age is going to be a challenge.

This sounds alot like what Bill Maher would use to deflect from some asinine comment, “hey I’m just a comedian” excuse.
FWIW I think Carly started it, but this whole thing is a side show...America is burning down and last I care about is DT feuds over her face.

I do care that the STUPID McConnel, Cotton and Graham just gave the nuke to iran and funded their worldwide terror campaign against us. So during the next 10 years they can kill us. I do care that Obama is letting 10,000 Muslims into the country. Why the hell can’t we pay attention to what is real and can/will kill us instead of these petty politics?
Exactly, this is what you get, still say there’s way more good than bad with Trump. But he is who he is. Other politicians say things much worse behind closed doors.

You know what? When women step into the ring with men, they need to quit pouting and complaining when they get hit with the same shots the men get hit with.
By-an-large women don’t belong where they put themselves in competition with men and it shows in their unreasonableness, unaccountably, and attempt at “special” treatment because they are women. BULL S##T. If you’re going to get into the ring with the men, then you’re going to need to take it like the men.
