Lock And Load: NATO Deploys Fully Armed Eurofighters To Russian Borders
Sputnik ^ | September 20, 2015

Posted on 09/21/2015 6:00:12 AM PDT by Fennie

NATO continues its military buildup in close vicinity to Russia: for the first time since the inception of the Ukrainian crisis, German Eurofighters are set to patrol the Baltic Airspace with full ammunition.

The NATO Baltic air-policing mission has been carried out by its member states since 2004, when Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania acceded to the military bloc.

In contrast with September - December 2014, the aircraft will carry enough ammo for a real fight: a gun, infrared short-range missiles, radar-guided medium-range missiles and an electronic defense system with decoys that are ejected at a threat.

Russia Is Building A Massive Military Base On Ukrainian Border

The Daily Caller ^ | September 10, 2015 | Reuters

Russia is building a military base along the Ukrainian border, signaling its preparing for long-term support of the pro-Russian separatists fighting for Ukraine. The massive base - scheduled for completion in April - will house ammunition depots and barracks for several thousand soldiers, and will be used to train soldiers, reported Reuters. The Reuters reporter investigating the new base was temporarily detained and accused of being a Ukrainian spy. Russian officials didn't respond to Reuters questions about the purpose of the base and whether it's connected to the fight for Ukraine. ..."

Imagine a world where the US is no longer the world leader and has retreated to it’s own borders, and the European countries are the defenders of the world once again, just like the 1920’s all over again. Gee, what happened at that time? Was not the world all cozy and sweet?

But do we really need almost 800 military installations on foreign soil?

Trump is right, these countries need to start to pony up for the security services we are providing.

No we probably don't need 800 (?) installations on foreign soil.

And we certainly do not need other government depts using the military to host and pay for civilian outreaches overseas, except where necessary for security.

Not talking about the CIA etc, but having the executive branch flood military installations with USDA, DOJ and NOAA lackeys.

What a silly article. They constantly feel the need to stress that the patrol planes are armed as if this is newsworthy and the standard has been to send unarmed fighters to patrol.

You would rather have Europe in control, especially after all those Islamic extremists are through migrating their?

Once the US lets go of its influence around the world, a vacuum will be present, filled quickly with those who would do the US harm - just look at Russia filling the void in the Middle East.

About 7 years too late. Mission already accomplished by 0bama and Val.

Russia is no threat to the US, as long as we stay out of Europe. If Europe wants protection, money talks......

If Europe was under Putin would they still get beheaded or would they be saved from their eminent demise?

Russia’s no threat to us, so long as we don’t mind it controlling the sealanes through the Med, the Middle East, and funding the Democratic Party as it erodes our liberties /s

Apparently it wasn’t the standard through September - December 2014, according to the article.

“If Europe was under Putin would they still get beheaded or would they be saved from their eminent demise?”

A few of the states (no longer really independent countries) are starting to wake up and re-institute border and immigration controls, much to the dismay of the European progressives.

Well, it is Sputniknews, so they may just be lying, but I doubt that flying patrols armed is something unexpected. Maybe there were some technical problems in September - December last year. I think these 4 months were unexpected - what good is a fighter jet on patrol without weapons?

So you don't think Russia is a threat to Europe? How about to anyone? Do you believe in defending allies when attacked?

We need to quit fighting the 2nd WW.

All this “defending allies” is a one sided “make the US pay for our security” scam. We have no allies that are standing up for any American challenge right now. It is time we quit funding all these euroweeny countries and have them pay their way.

Russia is accused of imperialism, they have 20 military installations on foreign soil. The US has between 750 and 800! We are the world’s patsy.

Impeaching 0bams, several of the Supremes, and about half of the Capitol Hill criminals would be a good start.

Get out of the UN NOW!, and renegotiate all mutual defense treaties to put teeth in them and have the benefactor of services rendered pay for those services (including the US when a ally provides defense services to the US )

Yeppers, they will stop at 20 and just leave us alone.

In fact, we should leave the world and just stick to our 50 states cause there aint goina to be any void filled after we leave it!

“In fact, we should leave the world and just stick to our 50 states cause there aint goina to be any void filled after we leave it!”

Of 0bama is the best we can do as our top military leader, the world would definitely be a better place if we did this.

But 700+ foreign installations is a bit over the top, unless we are paid by those countries for services rendered.

As we are no longer a manufacturing based economy and have morphed into a service based economy, there is no need for us to pay to protect the vehicle to deliver our goods overseas. The countries that are reaping the rewards of manufacturing need to pay the freight on their trade goods.

Like I said, we are the world’s patsy.
