Donald Trump admitted Monday that his rhetoric on the campaign trail may not always sound entirely presidential.
"Probably is a little childish," Trump said in an interview with CNN's Erin Burnett at Trump Tower in New York. "But you know what? This is a campaign."
The billionaire businessman defended his style, saying the attacks he's unleashed on his rivals in the Republican presidential field have largely been reactive.
"I'm responding to them. I'm a counter puncher," Trump said. "For instance, (Gov. Scott) Walker was very nice to me. All of a sudden, he hit me and I hit him back. All of these guys. (Sen. Marco) Rubio was very nice to me, couldn't have been nicer. All of a sudden a week ago he started hitting me."

I think you hit the nail on the head!
Agree, now Trump will get down to business.....’’serious discussion” and most will be in way over their head.
It really is time to look more presidential and look more serious. He has to appeal to a broader group than those on or side who are angry.
If I were advising him, I would organize seminars and work training centers in all the major cities to teach blacks and legal Hispanics how to get trained for jobs and what it takes to get a job. Teach English to those who do not speak it. Improve the language skills of those who speak ghetto He should show minorities with a little capital or a clean record and borrowing power, how to start a business in minority areas and hire minorities. Police departments should be part of the effort showing those who want to start businesses and want jobs that the police are there to keep the peace. They are not the enemy. Support the police, turn in the bad guys, work on getting skills and your community and your lives will improve.
+1
Mr. Trump, don’t stop being yourself. And PLEASE don’t go down any politically correct road. Next time Fiorina tries to PW you, let her have it like you did Kelly.
Stand tall and tough, Trump. This is just a mild test. Wait until you’re head-on with the Left and later with the Islam Radicals, Iran, and Putin. Show us you’re going to counter punch and be more determined and more clever than your adversaries. We’re looking for that.
I want to clarify that I believe Trump possesses those qualities.
Trump should appoint Ben Carson in whatever position to accomplish that.
No he’s following his plan.
These are very unusual times. After 8 years of incompetence from somebody who never had a job in the private sector, not even so much as bagging groceries, we could use somebody with a proven business record like Donald Trump.
Normally when a new president takes office, he appoints all his flacks and cronies to political positions. I think Trump is going to hire the best and brightest and fire them when they don't measure up. Only with Trump will be get true change in Washington. Everybody else in the race will only offer more of the same.
So I'm willing to overlook Trump's combative and abrasive style and I appreciate that he's at least making an effort to soften the edges a little.

Addition to my last post —— give the employees a small stake in the company so they benefit if everyone works hard and the business succeeds.
Today’s presser was on target. He’s about to stand on the gas pedal.
If the person who drew first blood is using crayons, he will use a crayon back. Tell you one thing, at least we know he will always have a proportional response. Putin on the other hand will not use a crayon, he would hit back with radioactive poison?
I wonder how Trump is viewed by his peers?
He didn’t learn after the Kelly “blood” comment not to go for the Carly “face” comment even after his top advisor resigned over the former. That was a major misstep that helped her in the debate. And he should’ve known better.
I don’t think the automatic hitting back is working with Carson or Rubio either. The only critique he has of Rubio that has any weight is the Gang of 8 issue. Trump will have a harder time going after someone who is likable with this strategy, where attacking them too hard could backfire.
I think he should make whatever transition he wants to make, slowly, without apology, and without any kind of announcement. Just do it and people will notice.
Pretty solid idea to show action before being elected. Show leadership and possibilities now. Demonstrate advantage of an organization for real, positive change independent of big government.
I give him a break for that. He’s 4th out of 5 kids and the middle boy. He probably had to do a lot of shouting just to get overheard.
Cruz is the only alternative to years of establishment candidates who don't even understand the insidious nature of the left's agenda let alone know how to fight it.
I have a feeling Trump’s tax plan is going to translate into better poll numbers in the next week or so.
Great ideas. Trump has an infectious entrepreneurial persona and could really help a lot of people. It would be awesome to see more Americans thriving in business HERE.
