Sen. Ted Cruz will meet with a group of House Republicans one day before they're scheduled to vote for a new senior leadership team.
Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, has invited the Texas Republican, leading presidential contender, to address his Conservative Opportunity Society at a Wednesday breakfast meeting. The agenda, according to the invitation, is "conservative strategy for the remainder of the year." Cruz has meddled in House affairs on several occassions, advising supportive insurgent Republicans in the chamber on key legislation and strategic matters.
However, it's unclear if Cruz, who ranks fifth in the Washington Examiner's presidential power rankings, plans to weigh in on Thursday's closed-door, secret ballot House GOP leadership elections. King's group is scheduled to meet Wednesday morning at 8 a.m., at the Capitol Hill Club. A spokesman for the Cruz campaign confirmed that the senator was scheduled to attend the event but declined to elaborate on his agenda.
House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy of California is running to succeed outgoing Speaker John Boehner of Ohio.
He faces an underdog challenge from Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz of Utah and Rep. Daniel Webster of Florida. House Majority Whip Steve Scalise of Louisiana is running to succeed McCarthy; his opponent is Budget Chairman Tom Price of Georgia. House Chief Deputy Majority Whip Patrick McHenry of North Carolina is running to succeed Scalise; his opponent is Rules Chairman Pete Sessions of Texas.

It would be huge if Cruz gets King's endorsement in Iowa.
The same people he met with the day before Boehner announced he was stepping down from the speaker spot.
Hmmmmmmm
Cruz for Speaker!
Kevin McCarthy’s untruthful blunder renders him zero for any position. If I were Tray Gowdy, I would have a restraining order put on myself to prevent a strangling..........
Cant read this crap now.
I like both.
:-)
He can be Speaker while he wins the Presidency.
I think King hates Cruse and has said so on many occasions. Unless I am thinking of a different King.
You are thinking of Peter King who hates Cruz.
Steve King,(IA) likes Cruz (but has not endorsed anyone yet). However, Steve King’s son is working on Cruz’s Iowa campaign.

Thanks VinL.
This one alone would blow up the bureaucracy:
(11) Eliminate all regulations that Congress does not specifically vote to affirm, or at least require Congressional approval of regulations going forward.
We don't need another dummy as Speaker.
