TWO Muslim brothers who claimed to be Christians to avoid going back to their homeland of Egypt have been denied protection visas.
They joined the Hillsong Church, did the Discovering Christianity course together and were baptised together as Christians but a tribunal has ruled neither brother is a genuine follower of the faith.

What is Australia saying, that the application was put in before the profession of belief?
I’d think it would make sense to have this kind of thing vetted by churches, not by the state.
They should have to eat several slices of bacon or ham before they can stay.
They should come here. We have a president who can get away with claiming to be a Christian while persecuting Christians during his entire term.

Obama is gonna be pissed about this.
The issue is the timing. They only began making the claim of Christianity at the point when it became clear other reasons they were claiming Visas would be denied.
Id think it would make sense to have this kind of thing vetted by churches, not by the state.
The problem with that is that we have some Churches here that are highly political and which would probably be fully prepared to back a false claim of Christianity to get these men a Visa.
